Anyone else pumped up about this signing?

I just found out.

This dude can really solidify our line.

He had first round talent coming out in 2004, is only 26 years old, and has started 48 of 56 games in the past four years for the niners.

This deal has me pumped.

keep em' coming tuna!

Where'd you get $2M per? I think he got $5 per, with $9M guaranteed

5 years/25 million dollars
9 million dollar signing bonus

i am very happy, when this broke last night at 12:30- 12:45 everyone on here was very happy but of course there was one or 2 haters

but he is a very good pickup

Sorry to douse your excitement, but the $9 million is just the guaranteed money. The total contract value is $25 million.

Nevertheless, he is a good pickup. He was the next best pulling guard behind Alan Faneca and should really help us in the running game. If we draft Jake Long, we can move Vernon Carey back and have a reliable right side for the next several years.

This team will be better off because it is buying its guards in free agency and drafting its tackles in April.

woah, didnt even know we actually signed him. how is something like this not on the first page?

its because it is a 14+hour story thats why it isnt on page 1 this broke 45 minutes after the FA signing started last night/this morning

Was just watching youtube videos on Frank Gore to see this guy Smiley in action. Didn't look like a dominant player... looked like a Chris Liewinski to me. Decent mobility. Not getting pushed backwards. I didn't see him pushing guys around, like some other Guards. I'm uncertain about this signing.

Well, this dude and two other starters could solidify the line...you talk like he completes the line...in case you don't know, we still have LG and either RT or moving Carey back to RT IF we can get a stud LT...to complete the line...
