We basically took Stills with the 3rd round pick this year; and I understand we lose 2 years of the rocky contract, but we have 2 NFL seasons of experience in exchange. Putting this aside and focusing on talent to play the position, character and scheme fit, how do you see K. Stills compare to projected 3rd round WR's?

According to some experts, posible 3rd rounders are:

76Rashad GreeneWR12Florida StateSr5-111822-3
79Tyler LockettWR13Kansas StateSr5-101822-3
89Tre McBrideWR14William & MarySr6-02103
92Justin HardyWR15East CarolinaSr5-101923
110Dres AndersonWR16UtahSr6-11873-4
117Dezmin LewisWR17Central ArkansasrSr6-42143-4

How would you rate Stills? you rather have him or one of this guys?

I don't really follow Collage football, so outside of Cooper I don't have a Knowledgable opinion, so what do you think?

There's only one speed type receiver that I think could be better and he wont be there in the third. Devin Smith. I think we got talent that can help now which is what we need if we are gonna see this regime for more than just 2015. Parker in the first. Parker, Stills and Landry. I like the sound of that. Sounds like a 60's band.

Some negatives with this move that get overlooked

1. You just don't know how "plug and play" Kenny Stills will be in this offense. He came from a system prone to success with guys of his skill type and when they leave are never heard from again. I don't envision that to be the case here, but I do think there will be a "learning curve" period.

2. Depending on that learning curve, you are talking about having this guy for only TWO years instead of 4. Next offseason we are talking about resigning this guy or not . . . something we wouldn't have to face with a rookie WR in 2015.

There are positives . . . he has done it on this level before and that can't be understated. We also got rid of a bad contract by Ellerbe.

Overall, I don't think we won or lost in this deal. Not at this moment. Personally I would of gambled on a 3rd round pick from this year but I'm ok with the Stills acquisition.

I think WR Kenny Stills is literally the best trade I've ever seen the Miami Dolphins make. Not only is he a perfect fit for Tannehill's skillset, he's also dirt cheap. I basically like Kenny Stills more than any rookie WR, other than Amari Cooper and Kevin White.

There are plenty of receivers in draft I feel are much better but not third round types.

Stills is better then any WR you can draft in the 3rd this year if that's the question

Mostly agree although point number one also applie to rookies... Might even be amplified because not only it will be a different offense, it`ll also be on an other level...

I like Stills relative to those WR's. One or two might end up being better, but you know what you have in Stills. Later in the draft, I particularly love Smelter and Bell. Bell is similar to Stills in some ways, but he'll win more jump balls, and he's considerably quicker. His ceiling is being massively underrated. Both Bell and Smelter are very physical and effective blockers. PFF graded Smelter as the best blocking WR in the draft, which should have surprised exactly no one. He was also tops in the class at yards per route run. His physicality jumps off the screen. His RAC is up there with anyone, and his 11" hands are a big plus.

I also like A. Hill. He reminds me of Keenan Allen, and I think he'd be a good fit for this offense.

2 years experience for a young player > a 3rd round rookie and his contract.

I still dont think acquiring Stills eliminates the posibility of MIA drafting a mid round WR.

He'd be #2 after Rashad. But yeah, Kenny Bell is falling under the radar.

I think if McBride played for a bigger program he would be given a lot more attention. I really like Bell. I've seen him drop a few passes, but overall he has solid hands, good speed and quickness and brings some value as a returner. After thinking about it those same traits I mentioned for Bell apply to McBride.

It's easy to say Stills is the best out of the 3rd rd bunch b/c he's played already so we know what he can do. Every rookie that comes into the league has to prove they can play. With Stills production in the league so far I'd say I'm happy with the trade.

I've been saying it for weeks though. Another WR is needed. Maybe even 2.

i think stills is probably worth a 3rd round return...i can see that...especially with the way wrs are being pushed up in this class...i don't think stills is special though...just a solid ideal situation #3 wr vertical option...as for what i'd rather have than him on that list i'd say rashad green...but the games they play are different

i'm not in love with the whole vertical speed wr limited route tree guy who is super fast but also not very big and offers not a very large catch radius...i'd much rather make my wr core like the packers...and i'm especially not a fan of making that vertical speed guy the focal point of your offense...and make no bones about it mike wallace was that in 2014
