Kalen Ballage, One Of The Fastest Rbs In The Nfl?

Whenever Drake gets paid $6mil+ a year from another team he’ll be a stud for us. Well, until he gets paid by another team and we get a new late round RB stud.

Fournette is the fastest RB last year? Crazy I had no idea I figured it would have been Hunt or Kamara, I need to watch Fournette more often.

some people don;t like Ballage but I do. Maybe he doesn't have this amazing vision but he can still play. Not every RB is going to have it all.

I like Ballage. I'm just saying, the only reason we were able to draft him in the 4th round is that he's got poor vision out of the backfield.

Physically, he's incredible. He's also a good blocker, and good receiver. If he was better at finding creases, he'd have been gone in the first round.

I think it’s also as a ball carrier he doesn’t run consistently with the pop his size would suggest. Some of that gets scraped cause of how upright he is.

Oh I hear you. I mean I've heard plenty of people talk about his vision and I guess it must be true cause every team passed him over several times including us but I'm glad we got him.

I am not sure if you are taking a shot at the Dolphin's organization with this statement, but that is exactly how a good organization should handle the running back situation. I would never pay a running back big money.

Not taking a shot, but now I can see how you think that. I’m happy with how the Fins have handled the RB situation for a while. They have a great eye for talent there. I don’t think early drafting or overpaying WR/RB talent is wise.

If Miami thinks the scheme is driving the in game running game results more than anything else they won’t be paying any rb top level money.

And as long as we are heavy 11 personnel with true slot types I don’t see it changing.

And they are trying to get gesicki not to be an obvious tell in 11.

Loved him comin' out. He was one of my favs in the draft and I'm NO draft maven.

Physically the kid is borderline freak.

Seems very bright.

Seems motivated.

Seems to be developing as a PRO.

Could be a phenom pick!

IMO, right now Ballage lacks vision and he runs too upright, which may set him up for big hits and/or injuries. That said, barring injury what we see right now is his floor, so he only has up to go. I can't wait to see how he improves after a year or two. I wouldn't be surprised to see Gase be very conservative regarding his playing time in the beginning. Look how long it took Gase to wake up and finally see that Drake could help us.

I like what I have seen of Ballage so far and I also liked Howell in limited action.
Both players are young and look like they can play.
For now its Drake and the old vet.
