I still have an Abdul-Jabbar jersey.....I thought he would be our running back for years.

Good post. It's a real shame his career ended so early. Though... he did sign a one year contract with Indianapolis in 2000, I'm almost positive he did not play because he had chornic pain in his surgically repaired knees and they placed him on IR before he could play a single game.

He carried the ball once for Indy in the 2000 season opener against KC.

Oh okay, thanks, Just curious, was that the game he got injured or did it happen during practice? And do you know if he just re-injured his knee or did it never fully heal properly?
