I think he lost weight, grew 15 inches, learned how to shoot a hook shot and played for the Lakers.

Dude, I remember when someone at work, THIS YEAR, asked me if they were the same guy.

He lost his memory from crashing in a wall every down going up the middle, he is in assisted living care! He thinks he is the Laker Center from the 70's and 80's. Nurses says he watches old video tapes and Yells Look at my sink that hook shot! SWISH!!!!

wut ever happened to karim abdul jabbar

You've got a lot of inaccurate answers, so here is what you are looking for:

Karim was a rookie for us in 1996, when he rushed for 1116 yards. However even then, his average was only 3.6 yards per carry.
This was followed by two sub-par seasons. We traded him early in the 99 season to Cleveland. He ran for only 330 yards for the Brownies and a lame 3.0 yards per carry before falling to a knee injury, which ended his career at the ripe old age of 25. (contrary to what some told you, he did NOT play for Indy or anyone else).
That's the deal.
Hey by the way, he's only 31 right now. Maybe the Raiders would want him... well, in a few more years.

He played 1 game for Indy in 2000.

Yeah last I heard he was in Indy but I think he tore an ACL in training camp and hung it up. He was a hard worker and Dr Z. thought he may have been the best back in that draft. He was decent but went down if he was blown on. Jabbar couldn't break tackles to save his life.

He also had the uncanny ability to run into the back of a pile when there was open field all around.

Karim

To follow up on all the Karim talk, He's my cousin. Karim is living in Baltimore now with his family.

he just had no break away speed...and i think his 1000 yard season was more a credit to jimmy johnsons constant commitment to the run...i think he averaged like 3 yards a carry most of the time...but my memory there is weak...but ill give him this...he gave his all on every down, even though he was a lacked the physical skills to play in the nfl...his desire made him a 1000 yard rusher in his rookie year and lots of first round players cant say they achieved that...

Ahhhh Autry Denson...that brings back horrible memories.

He did have one good drive at Indy in the 2000 season, when Damon Huard was in at QB for Fiedler. Seemed like Denson either carried or caught the ball on every play until the TD to Gadsden. That was a sweet game.

Good post. It's a real shame his career ended so early. Though... he did sign a one year contract with Indianapolis in 2000, I'm almost positive he did not play because he had chornic pain in his surgically repaired knees and they placed him on IR before he could play a single game.
