Karlos Dansby thread

Way too heavy handed with the merging of threads lately.

There's a fresh piece of news out there that the Combine is buzzing with rumors that the Dolphins will pay Karlos Dansby, and nobody knows that it's been reported by members at FinHeaven because every time someone starts a thread about, it gets merged with some overstuffed "Official Karlos Dansby Thread" which is 300 posts deep and covers at the beginning mostly just base speculation.

That's not what this site should be about. Needs fixing IMO.

disagree - the player isn't even a dolphin for one and these threads probably shouldn't even be in the main in the first place - if he signs and becomes a dolphin, then we will let all the new threads stand unless they are generally all the same i.e. - dansby just signed etc - otherwise, we don't need 16 dansby is interested in the fins threads - there's 15 posts to a page - it's not like anyone has to go back real far to find the latest speculation...

Ive never ran a website, so I dont know how difficult this would be. But why not lock the original thread, than let the new thread "Combine Buzz-Dolphins will make a push for Dansby" (or whatever). I dont know just a thought.

Exactly.

There's being meticulous and organized for the sake of the readers/posters' welfare, and then there's being meticulous for the sake of being meticulous. This is a solid example of the latter.

The news deserves its own thread, in the MAIN forum, because it's Miami Dolphin news about a potential Miami Dolphins acquisition and above all, the readers/posters are clamoring for this news.

This doesn't really help all that much though. I check finheaven 3 or 4 times a day for news. Right now the new thread title update is that Dansby is making his first visit to Miami today. As much as I'd like to read the source article, I don't want to trudge through 29 pages to find it.
