In the decade of the 70's the Dolphins beat the Bills 20 straight times
But since that streak ended the Bills have actual beat us 39 times to 34
Here are some of those games and how they affected the season.

In 1981 they beat us 31-21, We ended up winning the Division but missed out on the bye by a 1/2 game. The loss forced us to face the Chargers in the epic OT playoff game instead of sitting at home with bye.

In 1987 the Bills swept us despite their losing record. The 2 losses prevented us from winning the AFC east and making it to the playoffs.

In 1989 the Bills swept us. They ended up winning the division by one game over us and we failed to make the playoffs.

In 1990 the Bills beat us in the last game of season and won the East by 1 game over us. In the playoffs they beat us again and eliminated us from playoffs.

In 1991 the Bills swept us. the 2 losses ended up costing us a Wild card spot.

In 1992 the Bills beat us in Miami in the AFC Championship and eliminated our Super Bowl hopes.

In 1993 a late season losses kept us from getting the last Wild card spot.

In 1994 the Bills swept us despite their losing record. The 2 losses cost us home filed advantage in the playoffs. We lost in San Diego in the famous game when the lights went out at halftime in our locker room.

In 1995 a late season loss cost us the AFC east title. The next week we traveled to buffalo as wildcard and were eliminated. This got Shula to step down.

In 1997 a loss to the 6-10 Bills cost us the AFC East Championship by 1 game. We traveled to New England and were eliminated in playoffs

In 1999 the Bills swept us. the 2 wins allowed them to get Wildcard instead of us.

In 2002 the Bills beat us late in the season in the Ricky Williams snow game. We missed playoffs by one game.

In 2005 a loss to the 5-11 Bills prevented us from winning the east by 1 game and we missed the playoffs.

In 2013 a late season loss to the 6-10 Bills cost us a Wild card spot.

2014 ?

So that is 14 seasons ruined by losing to the freaking Bills. I guess we may have to endure 6 more until Karma is happy.
Sickening..

The 1992 Bills/Dolphins AFC championship was the first game I ever attended.
After the game we went to a bar for the NFC Championship and you could get ten draft beers for a dollar. Good Times.

I used to love watching marino and Kelly go at it. But I do remember coming up short... alot

Fun Fact: Jim Kelly, Andre Reed, Thurman Thomas, Bruce Smith, Darryl Talley, Don Beebe, Pete Metzelaars, James Lofton and Marv Levy all have the same number of Super Bowl rings as Ryan Leaf

I still hate the JESTS lot more.

They also have the same number of Super Bowl rings as me.

And every notable Dolphin in the last FORTY YEARS.

True, but we also didn't cement our legacy in history by losing four straight superbowls.

You make it sound like these individual losses to the Bills screwed us over....but just remember that it's a 16 game season, so if the Dolphins just took care of their business and won 10 of these games, normally that's enough to make the playoffs.

At least we have two SB rings, compared to None for the Bills, and they have to live with 4 consecutive SB losses, which will never be topped.

you had a bye in 1981. the SD game was at home in the div rd.

That is correct, even though we lost to bills we could have beaten the jets last year and still gotten the Wild Card.
Just showing how many times that loss affected the season end outcome. At the end of the season you come up one game short and you go back to the games you should have won.
That is all I was doing and re-living a little misery.... It seem appropriate after this past weekend.

We beat the Bills in a playoff game when Trace Armstrong lit up Doug Flutie inside our 5 yd line as time expired. What year was that?
