Sorry if this is in the wrong forum...

But I think this kid could be the fill in for RW for 2-3 seasons, if and when RW is traded. The scouting report on him is mostly positive, and would/could be and excellent compliment to Ronnie. We all saw potential in him last preseason.

SI.com gives this kid a pretty good grade, and after sitting on the practice squad for a year, learning the offense, and getting in shape (see Manny Wright), I think we have the answer here!

He will not be splitting carries like RW. There is no "answer" for RW on our team. We will restructure the RB situation if RW leaves. KJ would serve as a backup.

Many people here thought he had been the answer before last season. Well, didn't quite turn out.....

I'm not saying he's the next RW, but could fill the hole as a 2nd running back, behind Ronnie. Ronnie's time to take the reigns is this year. Let him be the featured back!

My opinion of Kay Jay is that he could be a more consistant Travis Minor. Extreemly effective third down back and in the event that Ronnie goes down he could fill in as an every down back and be somewhat effective. Is he the answer for Ricky Williams, not by a long shot; but if it comes down to a high second for Ricky, I would do it with full confidence that we would have a backup plan at running back

If he is so good why wasnt he plucked off of the practice squad? Alot of teams needed RB's this year.

Nope, you got the forum right. KJ did show some flashes in preseason last year but he has a lot of development to do. I guess if Ricky is traded its possible he would be in the mix though. Saban dosnt keep people on the PS all year unless he likes somthing about them.

yeah right... undrafted... but an nfl star...

Yeah, that never, ever happens. :rolleyes2

I wouldn't rule out the possibility of him contributing, but I wouldn't get too optimistic about it either.

Such a WEAK argument! Players to go undrafted and do well in the NFL:
Sammy Knight, Rod Smith, Adewale Ogunleye, London Fletcher, Antonio Gates, and.......... Preist Holmes. Just to name a few!

Never know, till they're given a shot, and I think Saban gets the most out of each and every player.

I like Kay Jay a lot. He would have made the team if not for the log jam at RB. We already had RB, RW, Morris and Minor.

I would like to see him get more time this year, but it's doubtful if RW stays.

Saban had stated Kay Jay was impressive last year, but there just wasn't any room for him.

i love KJ.he looks like he can be a pretty good back.i hope he gets the second spot in the future and get some carries.he made some good plays in the pre season.
