I usually don't do write-ups, but this game was so crazy, that I thought I'd give it a try...

1) This has to be the game of the week, what a game. Lead changes, big plays, OT, what 'Moore' could you ask for.

2) We have problems with running QB's. Taylor almost won this game for the Bills.

3) Charles Clay is a beast. Is he overpaid? I guess so, however, he is a straight baller, wish he was still on the team - he breaks tackles like Ajayi.

4) Great effort by Sammie Watkins - he played with heart.

5) Mike Gillislie looked good - real good. He looked faster, stronger, and ran with passion. When he was here, he looked scared - I guess he has matured.

6) Carpenter is not good. He also plays in an area where the weather is harsh. I am not sure why he was given a contract up there.

7) Loved the Reggie Bush stuff for a loss - I liked Reggie when he was a Fin - but I think he's about done.

8) I don't like LeSean McCoy, but wow. Now that he is healthy, boy he does he look nasty. Speed, hard cuts, dips n dashes, power, vision. He had a great game.

9) What happened to the vaunted Bills d-line?

10) What happened to Lorenzo Alexander, Zach Brown, and company? These guys were balling earlier in the year and now they can't make a tackle. Jay busts them open for 200 yards - twice. Bell thrashes them for 200. I thought this Bills front 7 was going to be legit this year.

11) Matt Moore - he looked like a QB that hasn't played in awhile in the first half. He looked poised in the second half - Alex Smith, game manager type poised. He made the throws when it counted. Bills dropped a couple of picks - Pats DB's won't drop those. I think he'll play better next week.

12) Cam Wake got the sack when we needed it. I wish he'd have 3 sacks a game but he gets held 90% of the time so I'll take it.

13) Paysinger made a few tackles, Butler made a few tackles, Hewitt made a few tackles...but out LB talent level got exposed today.

14) Howard had rough game, but I love his future. Lippett was solid IMO. I didn't notice McCain at all.

15) I hope IAQ is ok, that was a big hit - bounced right off of Clay (as most people do).

16) Didn't really notice Rambo today.

17) Suh had a great game. The tip ball was huge.

18) I think Landry had a direct impact on the team - Williams looked like Landry when he decided not to go out of bounds on his 44 yard scamper and took it back inside for more RAC. Williams ran hard too when in the game....solid play from the #2 back.

19) Great awareness by Drake - looked for the open field and then turned on the jets. I was shocked that there were few Bills in sight.

20) Dion had a solid game - noticed his blocking a lot this game. We tried to hit him in the seam but just couldn't connect there.

21) James had a couple of bad calls, but I thought he played well overall.

22) Tunsil balled - no holding calls and Jay for 200 yards says it all.

23) Urbik - way to go big guy - next man up!

24) Bushrod....solid game - I'm glad he's on the team.

25) Big B.A. - no sacks on the Moore, I didn't notice many hurries either. Matt had all day to throw.

26) Good catch by Gray, he's good for at least one or two 20 yard catches per game. Good team player.

27) What more needs to be said about Jay. I thought the Bills would stack the box and hold him to about 75 yards....well, he had that in the first quarter damn near. I hope the shoulder is ok. He is going to party his ass off tonight. A 50+ yarder in OT?! Wow.

28) DVP, wow....he showed up. Even with the hamstring or back issue. He snagged a slant, put his head down, broke the tackles and took off for the 56 yarder. He earned his check this week big time.

29) Great returns by Grant. Much needed special teams jolt by the little guy.

30) Darr had a some nice punts today as well. Good coverage by the gunners as well as making sure the ball stayed out of the end zone.

31) Shout out to Denney, no bad snaps from the veteran as usual.

32) Earl Mitchell appeared to have played solid, however, when you are gashed for that many rushing yards it's hard to give props.

33) Branch made several solid tackles - playing for that contract huh?

34) Mario - non-existent. He will be a goner.

35) Franks cost us 6 points early, but then got us six when it counted. I just knew he was going to miss the 55 yarder....that play looked doomed from the start....(but he banged it through).

36) Landry - great blocking all game. Not a huge game but his presence was felt positively.

37) Stills - clutch catch in the end zone - a couple of clutch first down catches. Solid year from the young man.

38) Michael Thomas was solid - we really needed him when IAQ went down.

39) Coaching - I have no beef with anything Gase did today. Solid game coach.

40) 90 snaps for our defense? Wow. There is no way we should have won this game.

Great write up...couple additions:

* I thought Gase was too cute with the play calling on the series after Buffalo scored to make it 28-24. With just under 6 minutes left, I wanted to see a bunch of Ajayi runs. We ran a wr reverse and 2 passes for 3 yards....

* would have liked to see the game winning fg kicked with 10 seconds on the clock rather than 50. We could have kneeled another time (or 2 if bills call last to). This way if we somehow miss, we are pretty much at least assured the tie.

* Drakes return to the 39 on the last series of regulation was huge. Not sure we get a fg attempt if we start 15-20 yards back.

* I'm so tired of watching LBs take bad angles, miss tackles, get burnt on coverage. Lots of this today...

I'd like to see Drake on the field more, especially on passing downs as a single back. I know he's fast, but I didn't realize how fast. That run reminded me of Marcus Allen. He's even kind of built like Allen.

As I recall Allen wasn't that fast.

Thank you for the Marcus Allen reference - that run reminded me of Allen in the Raiders Superbowl against the Redskins.

Good observation kc, thanks. Buffalo has some good players.....I'd take McCoy, Clay, Watkins any day. Taylor killed us, like I thought he would. Thank God Rob Ryans run D is so bad!!

Good writeup, thx. I especially agree with your point about our defense against running QB's, I think that Tyrod Taylor has a little Russell Wilson in him. What I'd like to see against running QBs is Neville Hewitt moved to MLB on obvious passing downs and Alonso kicked outside, with Hewitt spying the QB. We need to draft/get in FA some more LBs for sure, Kyler Fackrell would have been a nice pickup last draft. But I do like Neville Hewitt at WOLB and again I think MLB in certain situations. SOLB is a problem since Koa Misi got hurt, time to reload that position for sure. Jelani Jenkins- maybe best kept as a quality backup so he can better avoid all the injuries that have plagued him, dude just gets hurt too often.

That was the game winning FG.....................the BILLS didn't get the ball back.......GAME OVER!!!!!

edit: Nevermind.....guess I should read a bit closer....I see your point!!

Best thought was the John Denney love.

Best. Long Snapper. In. The. NFL.

Indeed, on that final FG I actually thought about it...he nailed it.

Good write up, it did seem like by OT, the defense finally figured out a way to stop running QBs...took em long enough!

Great write-up KC! Thanks.

Yeah, I think the Rex Ryan 34 never fit this formerly great Bills team. Stalwarts of that defense, like Marcel Dareus and Kyle Williams are perfect fits for the 43, but poor fits for the 34. With those guys playing out of position, that defense doesn't really work.

At the beginning of the year, if someone had told you the offensive explosion the Bills would provide this year, you'd think they would have gone 12-4. But the double-Ryan defense stinks. All those square 43 pegs being crammed into that Rex Ryan 34 round hole ... well, you get the picture.
