It would be foolish to break ties with Marty Booker to supposedly "upgrade" the WR position. Booker is fine as our number two reciever and will be even more productive next year. I think he has very good hands and does not seem to get credit for that. He makes catches he is supposed to make and if you watch around the NFL right now there is some bad #2 reciever play going on. We have much bigger needs than at WR right now. Randy, CC, Booker, Welker, R&R, make for a great amount of weapons offensively. If we upgrade at QB and a few OL positions this will be one hell of an offense. We also need to hope Linehan doesnt get a head coaching job! As CC gets more defensive notice Bookers stats will go up. So lets hope he restructures but even if he doesnt I think it is a huge mistake to get rid of him.

Yes, agreed!

Marty deserves a long term deal and some job security, and I have to think he'd take a pay cut to get that. If he declines that, I think the team has to keep him around for the reasons you mention. His stats should go up when more attention is paid to Chambers, so it should be possible to get better value for him next year if he doesn't want to be a Dolphin for a long time. I strongly think he wants to stay here now that he is here, though.

guys watch the highlight video and see who got us through the beginnig of the season when chambers was invisible and disapointing... when everyone wanted chambers neck in a rope booker was getting us through the rough spots... keeping him is a no-brainer

im just curious to know what everyone thinks Booker is worth,,,,,,in terms of yearly salary?

If I recall, McKnight was getting $1.5 million a year when he was here. I think a good #2 receiver is probably worth $2.5 million a year or so now, which makes Booker slightly overpaid.

Fact of the matter remains: We need a GOOD #3 WR. Welker isnt bad, but id like to see a bigger target with speed ie. Boston.... only problem is Boston is never healthy. Gilmore isnt cut out to be a WR, hes pure ST

I know it's cliche...but, Booker has got Heart....

If anyone is convinced the team needs an upgrade at #3 WR, I highly suggest that the draft is the place to look for that guy. I'm not totally convinced that is the case, though. I think I'd like to limit Welker to punt returns and #3 WR and see what he could do.

I like Booker, though I find it humorous that he made so many downfield plays as I always felt his strength was as a possession receiver.

When we get a QB who can hit downfield passes regularly, Booker will start looking like he did in Chicago.
