Keep bryan cox

Website had him listed as the pass rush specialist...our pass rush sucked.

We got good pressure from our DL. Our LBs sucked at getting to the QB other than Wake.

He'd have a job for life if I ran the Dolphins just for knocking Harvey Williams out of a game vs the Cheifs in....'94 I think? Knocked dude smooth the **** out.

Actually Bill Sheridan was the LB coach, Cox only coached the pass rushers. I don't think he's a must keep.

Okay you got me there. He was only an assistant LB coach basically. However, all of the negative replies are missing the true point to this thread. Bryan Cox was one the players we all loved from the glory days of our beloved Dolphins. SO with that said, why is keeping him such a horrid idea? Oh wait I forgot this site is full of people who want a million dollar high named coach at every position. I for one think our pass rush was horrid in the first half of the year along with the rest of our teams play. Maybe it wasn't the pash rush lb coaches fault. If I remember correctly the loved Nolan was in fact calling the plays that disappointed us all. Just saying keeping a Dolphin icon in some role on this team might be a good PR move and keep a little history right here in Miami. Just like hiring Zach to scout or some random sh*t would be welcomed by us all as well.

Dang I must have been sleeping. How many super bowls did we go to when Brian Cox was here? IIRC Brian Cox put on the Jets uniform after he left the Dolphins, at that point he was dead to me and I'm not keeping a guy for sentimental reasons.

I want to freakin win now...you know the days of Bob Griese were great, Larry Czonka, Jim Kiick and Mercury Morris were awesome, deep pass plays to Paul Warfield were exciting and Jake Scott, Nick Bouniconti and Manny Fernandez were fun to watch...even the Marino era gave me hope every season...but I'm ready to win again and win now. I'm tired of holding on to the "glory days", I want some new glory days, new memories. Brian Cox didn't help us win a single game, he did nothing for us so IMO there is no reason to keep him.

Sadly, I don't think our pass rush was noticeably better this year with Cox as our "pass rush coach". I'm not saying he didn't do anything, but when it came to teaching, I never saw Cam Wake bust a spin move, or Koa Misi go swimming past defenders, or JT split a double team. Bottomline, our sack total went from 38 to 41 with Cox. Sorry, that's not enough to justify a salary.

Meh ...

I loved his fire as a player. If we keep him on the staff, fine. If we don't, also fine.

Not sure he makes that much of a difference. (kinda smelled like a PR move in the first place) :idk:

Saxk total went up 3 which is less than his average sacks per year.
51.5 over 12 years.... his second he had 14 of them... Loved his fire, but, not sure pass rush is his stong suit
