Not much has been thrown around about keeping vernon on the left side. There is the possibility that we keep him there and draft a stud right/left tackle in Long or take a right tackle in the 2nd rd. Would you be comfortable with carey starting the year at LT? Discuss.

I wouldn't one bit. Carey is average at best on the left side imo. He gets beat his fair share of times. I would feel much more comfortable with him on the right side.

Personally I think it would be ideal to put him at guard, but we don't have that luxury with our tackles.

Keeping VC at LT and drafting a 2nd round OT gives us two good O-lineman as bookends. Drafting J.Long and putting VC back to RT gives us two great bookends, that makes us have a dominant O-line with Smiley, Satele and hopefully R.Schuening. I think we'd be way farther ahead with J.Long at LT and V.C at RT. That also gives Beck a better chance to succeed especially when Ronnie is tearing it up.

This question has been front and center for me, because this is the time to address this isuue and end this OL misery.

Move Carey from LT- yes.

Move him to RT- probably.

Move him to Guard if we draft JLong and Sam Baker/Anthony Collins- yes.

Left to right: Baker/Smiley/Satele/Carey/Long.

That gives you potentially one of the best OLs in football in one fell swoop. Sign me up for that, boys.

But most logically, we take CLong or Gholston #1 and Baker/Collins #32. That still works, especially if we follow up with Nicks/Benedict/that USC Guard (Chilio Racal or something like that). I'm also intrigued by the Utah OL
Murphy- his dad is Dale Murphy from the Atlanta Braves.

Don't forget Mormino and the other guy who we just resigned- Nkuduze or something like that. Big boy with potential.

We also have Wilson at OT to go along with Ndukwe and Mormino. Plus we have the C from Dal-Darilek, who might also project out to be a good OG. I'd say 1 or 2 good OT prospects from this draft would greatly improve our OL for this season, and many more to come!
