IMO regime change is hitting the reset button and starting all over again. New GM, ultimately means new HC, new co-ordinators, new assistants, new scheme and ultimately new players. This massive change results in a roster overhaul, something I do not believe we need.

This roster is loaded with individual talent. Ireland has to take some credit for that. When you look at his previous drafts, he has been successful. Since 2011 where he had full control, he has drafted Pouncey, Thomas, Clay, Jimmy Wilson, Ryan Tannehill, Vernon, Miller & Rishard Matthews. Thats 8 players over 2 years, who are contributing. If you hit on an average of 4 players every year you are drafting well.

Where I believe he has struggled is with FA, where the players he brought in were IMO not an improvement over the players let go.

Mike Wallace-$12m, Dannell Ellerbe-$7m, Phillip Wheeler-$5m, Dustin Keller-$4.25m, Brent Grimes-$5.5m, Brandon Gibson $3.25m totalling $37m

Anthony Fasano-$4m, Sean Smith-$5.5m, Karlos Dansby-$2.25m, Kevin Burnett-$2.75m, Reggie Bush-$4m, Devone Bess-$3m, totalling $21.5m.

Part of this I believe is new coaches wanting different players. Staff wanted a deep threat (Wallace), pass catching TE (Keller), Physical slot recv (Gibson), attacking LB's (Supposedly Ellerbe & Wheeler) turnover CB (Grimes). IMO Ireland has drafted well and signed players the coaches wanted. If we change again, we will get the same kind of expensive roster turnover.

I want to keep in place tho coaching staff. IMO there is a 3 year cycle. They have the players in place bar an O'line. We are a decent O'line away from a playoff run. Why hit the reset button now? This is a draft high on Offensive lineman. A FA class that may contain, Albert, Munroe & who I like Jared Veldheer.

Lets stick with what we got, Sign a FA LT, draft a first round RT, couple of Gaurds in 2nd and 3rd to compete with, Garner, Brenner & Dallas Thomas and hit the playoffs 2014.

True teams should never make any changes anywhere staying exactly the same after 5 straight non winning seasons is a recipe for success that can be looked at I history over and over again.
You are quite right on oline because Ireland has done such an awesome job of building our line since 2008.

Granted but Philbin has only been here two years. When he was hired it was starting all over again and rebuilding roster with a QB who was expected only to start next year. We went 7-9 last year which raised expectations. Now we are where we regardless of previous drawbacks (Sparano etc). Why not give it the 3rd year, put the line in place and see where it goes?

Re your title, when I think Dolphins roster these days it doesn't include an exclamation point

This was far from complete rebuild and if we hire a new GM a smart one would build with the good parts and jettison the bad. I don't know where people get this idea that every gm is going to start from square one just because

I honestly don't think keeping all of them is going to get us anything above mediocre. Unfortunately Ross appears poised to either cave or try to offer a sacrificial lamb to the slaughter.

The more dynamic approach would be to fire them all now, rather than to go through all this again next year.

I agree with dlockz. Cleaning this house at this point doesn't mean we'd be starting over.

What? If anything raised expectations, it was all the money we spent on FAs and all the picks we had in the draft, but in typical Ireland fashion it turned in to a huge fail.
