Keepers

Marshall is a guy that we gambled on. He is a hot head. He does have off the field issues that can cause distractions. Even if you haven't been suspended in a Dolphins uniform, at his age, you are what you are. If you're bad with money at 18, you're probably bad with money at 28, and bad with money at 38. That's not football that's just life. You can get a lot for Brandon and if you can you do so.

But I wouldn't have any issues if we kept him.

I don't agree with that assessment. People grow up and people change. I'm not saying Marshall has or will but to see someone that is 18 is going to stay the same way throughout life is a little naive.

In football sense, just look at Michael Vick or any player that goes to New England and all a sudden buys into the team concept. You just have to the right coach/football atmosphere for the change to happen.

It's not about showing emotion. When I say hot head I mean he's capable of becoming a problem in the locker room. He doesn't get the ball, or he's being shut down in the game he tends to get flustered and that's understandable. But in the past he has taken shots at teammates in the wrong way and if we were to land Luck, it's going to be a learning experience. And I don't want him destroying the confidence of a young franchise QB. It's hard enough out there as it is. However, I think he's toned it down and grown up a lot since Denver, but that thought is always on the back burner. I do want him to show passion as well. I just want him to be responsible with it.

I didn't say he wouldn't grow up. Hell I've grown up tremendously since my college days...but my qualities are still pretty much the same. It's those things that don't really change once you reach a certain age. The money example was a very good example. And I'm sure you know some older people who "just never learn."

Vick is a different kind of animal (no pun). A prison system will change damn near EVERYTHING about a person.

I agree that some people never change and become better whether it's money or being a team guy, but some guys do. I was just saying that when you say imply that all people don't change that it's incorrect.

Telling you guys...with the right coaching and the right scheme...Reshad Jones is that dude.

Keep him. He plays too hard to give up on.

I like Jones but I see him more of a strong safety. I would like to see him paired with Clemons and take out Bell.

I see alot of keepers on everyones list...I think if Miami moves to a 43 D Misi would be retainted for sure....To me he would be a very good Sam linebacker then on passing downs you can put him down on the line and rush the passer..Dansby would be the middle and Burnett would be the WLB. Wake goes down to weak side end then the rest you gotta pick and choose..Langford is a good 5 tech. I dont see him ever playing anything other than that..He is too tall and too lean to be in the middle..I think if we played a 43 over under than Langford would stick. Starks could play the Nose..Solia would be the odd man out there. Oddrick and Mcdaniels would still have value as well.

Locks would be- Long, Pouncey, Thomas(if he continues to beast) Fasano( I think Fasano is a very good tight end..when you throw him the ball he makes plays...the problem is before he was kept into block too much and Henne never really threw him the ball...(You saw Thigpen and Penny) hook up with him..Henne does not..

I think you keep Marshall...(Really without him this team has not threats)
Hartline sticks- He is a guy that coaches seem to love
Bess- one of the better slot guys in the league.

Vontae and Sean Smith would stick because they have alot of starting experience and are really young..Unless we had a drastic change say cover 2? Then Smith would be out.
Bell could be out regardless- Just getting old....Reshad Jones seems to getting the nod at SS for future sakes.

Chris Clemons would be gone..Gives up too many big plays..
Will Allen - Gone.

Without including money issues....

Offense:
(Definites)
Marshall
Bess
Thomas
Long
Pouncey
(Maybe's)
Gates
Hartline

Defense:
(Definites)
Starks
Langford
Solai
Wake
Dansby
Davis
Smith
Wilson
(Maybe's)
Odrick
Clemens
Jones
Misi

A new regime would probably keep a bunch of the younger guys simply because there's untapped potential there and they will think they can get it out of them plus they'd be on rookie contracts so they'd be cheap to keep around. Bell I think is past his prime and needs to be upgraded by next season or I would have put him up there. One thing that really sticks out with this list... Man the fins are HURTING on the OL. Defense needs a lot of work too because out of that list of players I'd keep there's only 1 pass rusher and no safeties, Ugh...

Well of course, but I don't see him causing any distractions, and I have no problem with having a "hot head" on this team as long as hes producing and winning. I can careless if hes showing some passion on the field, as long as he isn't getting on a T.O. level. This is football, emotions come out.

That is the problem, he is not helping us win. How many big plays does he make for this team? Not many considering how many times he is targeted. He certainly hasn't lived up to my expectations especially with his off field problems and his dumb penalties.

Surprised no one would keep Reggie Bush. I would also keep Henne even if I did draft a first round QB, he would be one of the better back-ups in the league

i agree, although he signed a 2 yr contract which is essentially a 1 yr deal.

Coaches are horrible in game planning for him. Such an asset who is so poorly used.

As been mentioned 1000 times on this list that good coaching can make a lot of the guys we have look better,

BTW Long gets to much love, his performance right now is no where near what he contract value is and he in reality would be one of the more logical guys to let go considering he has some value.

I think they way they use Reggie is about to change.
When the got him Reggie said that he could be an inside runner and Tony wanted to believe him. Even though everyone in the world said he wasn't a between the tackles back, they tried it and it just didn't work.
Now that Thomas is exactly that, I expect to see Reggie where he belongs- in space
