I see that as an aspect of having a guy who has played the game as HC.

did energy ever come from routine and/or cold judgement Philbin?

I would also bet that DC is more encouraging than critical with the rookies

Did you see the video with Dan talking about Jay Ajayi and Bobby McCain?

This is an area i have been sore about for years. Rookies are treated like an annoyance rather than an asset. Some guys have a multitude of issues, technique issues, conditioning, the play book and just are not ready. Other guys, and Bobby Mac is a perfect example, need to be on the field to finish their nfl schooling and get up to par.

So many of those guys, and even Mathews might be umongst them were there for a few plays and then gone for 4 games and their growth was stunted. These last few coaches before Lt. Dan just seemed like they couldnt identify rookies or young players who needed game day reps to fix their issue. You cant learn angles at nfl game speed or cut backs or identifying plays or defenses pre snap without being on the field, in pads at game day speed.

I have been dying to see bobby mccain on the field for extended periods of time. What i saw of him, most his issues he had to be on the field in regular season games to fix them. Campbell was down right gigidy talking about bo-mac. With the garbage displyed across from brent grimes, he was another example of "why not". Whats gonna happen, missed int's? Getting beat for a td? Miss a tackle? We already had all that so if those things are going to happen, at least we could take advantage of the poor cb situation and get a prized rookie his reps and get him coached up.

I dont think anyone sees Bowman as the future.

You could also hear it in Dans voice when talking about Ajayi. He was holding back on the props he really wanted to give. He is our ringer for the last 8 games. He and lamar are different enough to be a good 1-2 punch. If healthy, jay is going to be the hands down starter within a few games and where he will be super valuable is in games where there are not huge holes all over like in the tennessee game. Unlike lamar, ajayi doesnt always need holes to get big plays. He is one of those special backs who can make his own thing happen when things go wrong.

We have been at the very bottom so theres no where else to go but up and the sky is the limit right now for bo-mac, ajayi and parker under Dan Campbell. Its refreshing!!

WHY NOT?

We need to proceed with caution. We beat the Titans who now lost 4 games in a row.. I will wait after a few games before drawing any conclusions

I agree TN was bad, but they also played Buffalo tight. It was the energy and aggressiveness Miami played with that was encouraging

It means something to beat an NFL team by 4 touchdowns. It does not matter who you are playing.

Titans have no running game but their Defense is above average IMO. They also lost a few close games one being to Indy.Mariota got injured early but he has been playing well for a rookie.

Hou statistically is below average in run offense, pass and rush defense. they are #3 in pass offense.
If Miami can keep up the intensity, then I'm not worried if Hou is bad or not. because in the end, that's what is needed for the next three road games

Their defense is top 5 right now.....but its early.

Great win but we need to see more.

Dolphins interim coach Dan Campbell has done it again.

Campbell, who has had his players compete in mid-practice 1-on-1 drills, first-team offense vs. first-team defense drills, and even a tug-of-war, devised another interesting practice tactic Wednesday.

This time, young players had to battle their way out of a circle of veteran players.

Campbell, who once said he wanted his players to “violently compete,” gathered his team at midfield after calisthenics and before the actual practice began.

Then all heck broke loose. The scene resembled a giant rugby scrum.

Houston might have a bad run offense but Foster just came back they should be a much better running team now

I agree with you that we should not go crazy because of just one game, but there are a few things to consider...

1. The Titans did have one of the best run defenses in the NFL when Miami went into Tennessee, and Miami was still able run at will, and score 31 points on that D.

2. They said in the game, the Titans had one of, if not the top ball control offense in the NFL, Miami won the Time of Possession 31.52 to 28.07.

3. Scoring 38 points on anyone, while only allowing the opponent to score 10 points is pretty monumental, no matter what team it came against.

4. They played in Tennessee, so after Miami lost 3 games in a row, with new coaches in brand new positions, Miami had to do it all in hostel territory.

This may for now, not tell us for sure if Miami has turned the corner, and are now a good team, but what it does tell us is, this team is mentally tougher then before, and when you add how much talent there is on this team, it could be enough to start the winning domino effect.
