Is there ANYchance h falls to the second round if he did he would be able to replace zach thomas at LB but was just woundering if the is ANY chance

I've heard he may be the best LB to come out this year.

IT remains to be seen, I haven't seen a lot of mocks, but I would imagine if he was there at 32 we may have to pull the trigger, as the chances of him lasting until 59 probably arent' that great.

just from what I have heard and read lately, take it for what it's worth.

There is always a chance, everything depends on what happens at the combine. That being said I think he is a sure fire pick 15-25 range.

Oh and BTW, you could start a whole thread about on how many levels your sig is wrong.:)

not like this matters.......he went to my high school (lake mary, florida), i didnt know him well (i graduated in 2000). he was good friends with alot of my friends younger brothers. probably one of the nicest people you'd hope to meet.

he wil be the first lb taken a good inside backer we can take in rd 3 is wheeler from georgia tech he can run he can hit and he aslo gets to the QB

No there is no chance considering he will be the first LB taken.

if he has a good combine, he's a top 15 lock. A lot of teams will be attracted to his overall skill set which was never at full display at USC (Played with All-Pro Lofa Tatupu, All-American Matt Grootegood, 2 draftees in Dallas Startz and Oscar Lua, plus 2 future first rounders in Rey Malauga and Brian Cushing).

Dan Connor is a maybe at 32 because he's not a flashy player. Phillip Wheeler,Shawn Crable,Curtis Lofton,Jarod Mayo,Ezra Butler, Beau Bell, and Spencer Larson are viable options in rounds 2-4. Keith Rivers? Only way we get him is if we trade down in the first.

Yea i would like to get Dan Connor with the 32nd pick he is a good player

Rivers should go in the top 10/12 and I would think he'll play outside.

K. Rivers is going to be a NFL OLB not ILB so he wouldnt be replacing Thomas in the middle. I saw film on him on the NFL network and he isnt very good in pass coverage. I also think he benifited from a very powerful defensive line as far his ability to make tackles. While he did show some moves off of blockers and in traffic but I think its a stretch so say he is a top ten pick.

After watching film of Connor I went from high on him to not interested at all. The guy has no coverage skills and it was well documented on NFL network that he has only ONE move to beat blockers. The arm swivel and that wont beat the strong NFL offensive lineman he will be facing. He also played for a poor defensive PSU team and benifited from being able to play somewhat consitently. I think it would be in our best intrest to look at someone else in that later rounds and go after a very deep and talented line draft.

That being said I think that the tight end out of ND-Carson would be a nice pick up with our first second round pick. He has a good chance of going out earlier than that in the late first but would be a great steal if we could get him then. He is the only tight end in the draft that is very good in both blocking and catching. NFL network spoke highly of his abilities to be the best all around TE in the draft. They seem to think the rest of the tight end are more recievers than blockers. Most of the other TE's are old Wr that were converted to TE.

Whats your thoughts?

Agree! I've posted before about much I like this kid. Yes, he's definately suited for the outside LB spot, with all of that speed and agression he has. I would like to get him, but I agree where you think he may be picked, definately top 20, which would put him out of reach for us.

For ILB, I would like to think we would be looking at Wheeler. He has tremendous speed and is not a liability against the run. He's a solid tackler, and he really looks like a less polished Patrick Willis to me.

For OLB, I'm a monster Groves fan. I think he'll be the best OLB this draft, with a combination of size, speed, pass rushing moves, and coverage skills.

I'm also a fan of drafting Merling and moving him to OLB. He'd be a force!

if he were to fall we HAVE TO TAKE HIM. he is the best LB in the draft. the only guy i have ahead of him in was James Laurinaitis and usc MLB and they both stayed in school. but i dont see him falling. If we werer to get chris long and rivers with our first two pick i would **** my pants
