He is the Big 6-6 246 TE out of Michigan State he has been practicing down in Miami and he said that he would like to play for us does any body know anything about him and the dolphins are also going to talk to Sam Baker Tonight

I dont see Sam Baker as a fit in this scheme. Parcells has always favored big, beefy linemen.

Where did you hear this information? I always find it fun to know who is talking to who.

I like Kellen Davis. His knock is that he didnt have a good year until this one but I blame the offense he was in mostly. I also hear he's not a very good blocker which surprised me since he played some DE this season I figured he had good strength and potential as a blocker.

2008 NFL Draft Prospect - Scouting Report
Kellen Davis is yet another Big Ten player who will make his money at the combine this year. The 6'6", 246 lbs. tight end from Michigan State finished with just 32 catches for 513 yards and 6 TDs this season. However, Davis is horribly underutilized in an offense that focused heavily on the run this season. His career totals are modest at best, but his 60 career catches for 789 yards and 9 TDs shows a flash of potential. He has racked up a 13.2 yard per catch average for his career, displaying his ability to get down the field and make plays. Davis shows good blocking ability; having the size, speed, and strength to take on defensive ends and blitzing linebackers. He will, however, have to work on his technique to block at the same level in the NFL. He is a tremendous athlete and a good leaper, both good tools in the red zone. He finished his season strong, catching 4 passes for 38 yards and a TD against Boston College in the Champs Sports Bowl. Davis is, however, still extremely raw as a route runner. With some work he should be able to run crisp underneath routes and stretch the seam at the next level. Along with tight end, Davis has experience on defense and special teams. As a freshman and sophomore, Davis played on kick coverage and kick return teams at MSU. This season (as a senior), he came in to play DE on third downs -- registering 6 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 forced fumble. If he shows good route running acumen at the combine, his stock could skyrocket. Davis is likely, at this point, to go in the third or fourth round.

Hey sounds good to me- love the fact he went both ways on third down.

And hell, and this point I'd rather have Tim Ruddy come out of retirement and play TE than David Martin

6-6 for a tight end seems alright to me, I don't know much about him but I do think TE is one area that needs to get addressed in this offseason.

Don't they always say that they would love to play for 'insert team name here'?

I'd say they just want to be drafted and the fact that Miami drafts higher than everybody else plays a big factor in their desires...

Id love him in the 3rd. Good player and that means we can address LT and CB with the 2nd rounders and a Long with the 1st (CHris that is). :)

Not neccessarily. If I personally were in his position and lets say the Jets had the top pick. I would not let it be known that I would like to play for the Jets.

Of course if I was drafted by the Jets I would obviously play for them. Same goes for the Patriots, or any other team I dislike. Mostly just those two.

why woudlnt u let it be known if u want to be the top player which evreyoen wants to b/c of hte money and b/c of being the number 1 pick.

and im sure once ur wiht the jets or pats ull end up liking htem even if u hate em. especially the pats. **** who woudlnt wna play on a team like that? even tho they have A-holes/dirty guys on the team take that away and that organization is one everyoen should try to follow.

One of my favorite players, he is a Te, but as a De, he is a home movie of JT on the pass rush...if JT played at MSU, you would see what I meant.

Same moves, same heigth, same upfield speed...

I would love to have him in Miami, problem being, we need road graders and road blocks not flashy two position players, he is in my mock, but I don't see it happening....
