Kendall Langford....trade or extension?

Im playing devils advocate here, but I do believe it is an issue to be addressed. Langford is in the last year of his contract, so in my mind the question is, do we trade him or now or give him contract extension at end of season?,

Langford in my mind, barring Ngata, is one of the best 3-4 DE's in football. He is only 25 and could be a starter for the next 6-7 yrs.

We do though have a gluttony of 3-4 DE's in Starks, Odrick, Merling & McDaniel. I believe you could realistically pick up a 2nd round pick trading Langford, which would give us the opportunity to trade up for one of the Top 3 QB's next yr.

So would you trade or extend contract?

There are many who believe the grass is greener on the other side.

We need to hold on to our talent and build on it. We're not close enough to trade away emerging young players. As a matter of fact, I know of few teams that do it. They'll trade picks over emerging players.
 
Extend him. Pay the man. He is one of the few bright spots on this team. I don't believe we would ever get good value and he would not be easily replaced.
 
im crazy i know but I really have high expectations for Merling and Odrick,

i wouldnt criticize the FO if they traded Starks or Langford, that would tell me that they are probably sold on Odrick, and they decided they might as well trade a high stock player at a group thats probably the deepest in the NFL
 
putting in good, fresh players on the line during opponents long drives can save games. can't have enough of them.

Extend.

Hes a young, talented player that has started since day 1. You dont let those kinds walk out the door. If Merling and Starks have to go due the Odricks emergence(and Langfords solid play), then so be it.
