Kendall Langford....trade or extension?

He was always a pain in my *** when it came to trying to resign him in Madden.

If he doesn't sign the extension by week 1, I would trade him for a good RG or TE.

Actually your avatar did that for me.

I dont even think this is a real question, we must extend him and keep the little talent we have on this team. Why get rid of him for a pick? Lets keep our home grown talent, we could trade Starks who after one great season in 09 had a subpar season in '10...Odrick hasnt proven much and Merling hasnt either, so how can we say we have so much talent on DLine? McDaniels is good but I wouldnt keep him as a starter....

Extend without a doubt. If they'd like to get something for one of the DE's since that position seems clogged, he's the one guy you DO NOT trade under any circumstances.

Extend and trade Starks for something good at the end of the year. Starks still has 2 years left on his contract.

Odrick has 3 years. If Odrick has a great season and stays healthy, and continues to show what he's shown in camp thus far, then trading Starks at the end of the year for another position of need (or a high pick) makes sense.

We also have McDaniel signed through next year in the DE rotation. And can always get a cheaper backup DE through FA to fill another backup role (like we just did by signing Ronald Fields for a backup NT role)

You sign your best players long-term and get rid of the underperforming ones. That's how the Steelers and Packers do it. Seems to work well for them. Furthermore, we trade Langford, we will end up drafting a 3-4 DE in the 1st round next year. :(

Dolphins fan from Toronto here. We need to extend Langford because each year our Run Defense has been improving year in and year out. Without him our Run Defense would be horriblee!!!!

Totally agree! You keep your performing players 100%.

On another thread I posted about draft success. It is considered a success to draft 3 players who are worthy to start each year, which is a success rate of 43%.

Why trade a player who is 100% worthy of starting for one who is less than 50/50!

really? Wow he was a nt for a few years when he began his career I believe. But thanks for the correction

Just let him play out his deal
