I'll be honest. I did not like him sitting there for 5 mins with a towel over his head. You **** ed up now get in there and make a play which he actually did to set up the game winning FG

I was really stoked for him. Angry as hell with the way he fumbled in such a crucial moment but reminded myself how much he has contributed to us in his short career, he didn't owe us anything.

While I don't like the towel (albeit I understand why he reacted as such) thing either it's not like he could control destiny and get back in there to win the game. Had to pray the Bears didn't win it on their drive. Once he had the opportunity to redeem himself he took of the towel and did what he had to do.

My take was that a grown man just didn't want millions of people to see him cry on TV. I've seen this with players much more experienced. In my eyes it just means he cares but still needs to learn to internalize it a little better (at least in public).

My theory on Parkey is correct. He is still paid by Miami because Oz knew he would miss. That's some Patriots stuff right there!

Maybe you guys are right and he could not control his emotion and so covered his head. Really glad he did get the chance to redeem himself.

Also really glad the staff realize it needed a work horse like Gore for the inside stuff

I hope this guy is not a fumbler. He fumbled in that game last year against Oakland which changed the momentum resulting in a Raider victory.

Absolutely. There was too much rationalization around here last season that we were better off without Ajayi and with more of a swing pass mentality with Drake.

You can't resign to cupcake mentality like that. The offensive linemen thrive on being trusted to drive block. Offensive linemen are overmatched athletes compared to others on the field but generally they are strong and smart. Get them going straight ahead and it cleanses the entire offense.

If we had Drake alone there would be far too much danger of those games with 14-20 rushing attempts and therefore low likelihood of victory.

For reference, last season after Ajayi was gone we had a 5 game streak of fewer than 20 rushes in each game. From week 8 to 12 it was 19, 18, 17, 19, 19.

Then over the final 3 games it was 21, 16, 22.

You can't do that, not without ultra elite quarterbacking.

This season we got away with 14 against the Raiders but it was primarily because we had such a freakishly low number of snaps period.

Personally I loved it. Too many years I've seen our players smiling and laughing while getting their heads pounded in.

I get what you're saying about being composed and ready, but it was nice to see some passion and investment in the outcome.

This is the reason you move on from “break the team down” players like Ajayi and Landry. Culture with talent is an advantage.

Found myself more mad at the play call than the fumble. Shotgun when ball is one foot out. Thought perfect time for QB sneak.

That Brock was displaying leadership on sidelines just adds to how impressive he played yesterday. Honestly, I thought it was more of a bad joke he was the backup than an realistic contingency plan if he had to play an entire game. Proved me wrong.
