I wouldn't make Drake a WR. Drake's speed is the perfect change of pace for Ajayi. Drake avg. 5.4 yds per carry vs. Williams 3.3 yds per carry. He is a dangerous return man, and SUPPOSED to be a good receiver out of the backfield too. As you saw in December, Drake was getting more touches than Williams. He will be heavily involved in the offense as RB next year because his versatility makes him is a serious weapon.
Drake just took awhile due to the injuries. You heard rumblings early about them worrying about him picking up the playbook and needing live reps. Plus Damien Williams had a decent season overall. But look at the play against Buffalo and you'll see why we took a flyer on Drake.
From what I recall his production as a receiver in college was pretty good. Taking him off the field on third down has less to do with his ability in that situation and more to do with his heavy usage on 1st and second down, as well as the presence of two other RB's who provide their own positives in that aspect too.
It had to with his struggles in pass pro. 28 carries through the entire season on 1st and 2nd down is hardly "heavy usage".

You can't make him a wr, I can almost guarantee it wouldn't work. He is a rb that occasionally can go out wide
Talking about a different RB.
Grant won't be on scholarship next year, that's for sure. He's gonna have to step his game up somewhere, but I'm hoping that a guy with his explosive speed can make himself useful.
Take it I misread the post. We're you referring to his time in Alabama?
