Kershaw Cut again

love seeing the low draft picks make the team

It's not just the low ones, it's all of them.

Every single one of our draft picks in this year's draft made the team.. And if you include the 7th rounder we traded for McDaniel, that is all 10 of our picks all making the team one way or another.

There is a reason why Miami is one of the youngest team's in the NFL. They are slowly but surely being built through the draft, the same formula the Colts and Steelers have used....you don't see those perennial AFC powerhouses signing big name free agents and giving away draft picks like the jets and foreskins do every year.

Alan Faneca is one of the worst pass protecting guards in the NFL.. The steelers had no problem saying "see ya" for a 30+ year old guard who is absolutely terrible in pass protection- those idiots in NY made the 30+ year old Faneca the highest paid O-lineman at the time of the signing last year (and still the highest paid guard).. Faneca was ranked 29th of all the left guards last year in pass protection, and was horrible in pass protection with the steelers before he left

Paying a guy that crazy contract making him the highest paying O-lineman at the time of the signing, who is well over 30, clearly on the downside of his career, and is absolutely horrible in half his game, was a god awful decision-

^^ that's just one example of many.

giving away picks like candy, and signing the big name guys in free agency, is not how teams that are very good for the long term are built. Giving an average ILB like Bart Scott a ridiculous $50 million contract was yet another incredibly stupid move.. And they wonder why they have no depth on their team.. lol.

You never see the Colts or Steelers making such incredibly expensive, and totally asinine moves like the jets and foreskins do. That's why the Colts and Steelers are always good, every year....While the jest and foreskin fans are always crying in their beer left wondering, "why?"

The Colts in their last super bowl had an astonishing 42 of their 45 active man roster drafted by the team... Steelers had 19 of their 22 starters drafted by the team.. When the Pats were winning super bowls, 18 of their 22 starters were drafted by the team.. You can say the same for the NY Giants.

Keep your picks, try to add picks, draft well, and you have up and coming talented young players added every year, growing (developing) together for great chemistry on a football team.

Sure the Dolphins added some free agents, but a great majority of them were young guys with upside (they didn't give out crazy contracts).. And they had to add some bodies after that dreadful 1-15 team in 2007. That team was seriously lacking in talent and depth-- much like an expansion team roster, or even worse.. So they had no choice but to add bodies, but they did it wisely. And as time goes along this regime will rely less and less on free agency.. The machine is being built through the draft.

You can be sure of that.

I wonder if another team was going to poach Folsom off of our practice squad? Maybe that's why we signed him so we could keep him??

This turned out to be a great trade, only a 7th rounder for a quality d-lineman that's been good in the rotation.

Shameful. Cut Kershaw when Ginn still needs to be cut??

Even after 100 and 101 yard kickoff returns for TD's you still don't see his value as a return man?

Uh, if he was paid to be a return man, sure. Do return men get drafted that high? Is this their typical salary?

Aren't they typically corners?

Ginn is a highly paid, highly drafter receiver who the team is trying to get any value out of by having him return kicks.

Yes, he's damn fine at it, but we would have beat the Jets if Ginn had stayed home. When he wins a game by returning kicks, talk to me.

I agree with you that he's definitely been a disappointment as a receiver but he scored 12 points on returns alone, something our games have been missing, and I'm not so sure we would have beat the Jets this second time without those (no way of telling of course).

My feeling is that if he was a capable receiver, then we wouldn't have needed those 12 points. We had to score 18 points without a number 1 (or, really, a number 2 - or if you're generous, we have a number 2 and no number 3) receiver. Not only could he have scored at least a single TD in the passing game, just imagine how much that would open up the running game. Ricky and Brown would have 200 yards each. Henne would be pro-bowl bound.

Not having a go-to receiver (decent TE, anyone?) or a number one receiver is having an untold amount of damage on the season.
