I haven't watched the video yet, but how many times does he say the following: "K?", "That way", "at the end of the day", "at the end of this thing right here", "(insert meaningless stat) that has no bearing on winning football games", and my personal favorite "chunk yardage." If he's using those words a lot, then I might agree with you.
I hope this guys knows whats up. I would be so dissapointed if our defesne takes a big step back. That would really suck ***.
Here is the video of the interview with the Finsiders.

Stat that my Only Interest Me: In the interview he says (based on watching tape) "Miami was in a pure 3-4 only 28% of the time in 2012."
I dont think changing to a 4-3 is going to be as a big of a deal as some here think.
I've tried to tell a lot of people here that Miami shouldn't be considered a 3-4 defense because they were rarely in a straight 3-4 last season. lol... Finally a professional says the same. Maybe that will hush the "Oh my God we can't change to a 4-3" or "We don't have the right personel for a 4-3" crowd.
Whether in a 3-4 or a 4-3, we still need another pass rusher. We also need a more pure fit at ILB, although Dansby is versatile enough to handle the inside. Soliai was a big part of that versatility because he allowed us to be in that base 3-4 look but he also is a cog in the middle of that 4-3. It would be great to be able to keep him, along with Starks, Odrick and McDaniel . . . and then bring back Wake, Merling and either a high draft pick or a FA DE. A guy like Coples who could play DE, the Justin Tuck role at DT and even with his athletic ability stand up in a 3-4 would be an amazing piece to add.
Alot of options but I agree the transistion to a base 4-3 is going to be fairly easy when you look at it.
That's because head coaches tend to hide their coordinators from the media. They don't want them to speak much about what they're going to do.Sounds like a smart guy who values player's specific skills over defensive schemes.. I also can't remember seeing much of mike Nolan in front of the camera at all last season
