Kevin Fogg, Aiken's teammate at Liberty, will be trying out for Miami. He has sub 4.5 speed and is a cb/kr.

Interesting. I love giving CB UDFA's tryouts. That is one of the few positions where you can actually find some talent that has been overlooked fairly regularly.

Case in point, Brent Grimes

This guy is a BEAST kick/punt returner! As a CB he uses that speed to his advantage, especially in Zone coverage. He often baits QBs into throwing to his zone only to turn on the burners and close on the ball, fast. The way he plays the zone reminds me a lot of a young Grimes in that he baits the QB into thinking the WR is open. When a play is brakes out into the second level he's usually the one to chase the player down and make the TD saving tackle. I can see him playing special teams for a year or two as a gunner and/or punt/kick returner and perhaps breaking the 53. I have no idea how his man coverage is. He makes some impressive plays in the video I posted. Enjoy.

I heard he was incredible against Coastal Carolina..... "Coastal blanketed by Fogg"

Looks an interesting guy. A lot to like, particularly his attitude (which is something I believe Hickey is actively addressing this offseason). Gets his head around early, which he can do with the speed he has without losing coverage on his receiver. Good vision on the returns - a couple of those he spurned the bigger, more obvious gap for the line that eventually broke him much bigger yardage - didn't look like a fluke to me.

For his attitude alone, I'd be rooting for the guy. I definitely believe they are actively looking to ditch Thigpen if they can find a serviceable returner from a developmental player. I don't know who else other than WR Damian Williams has return experience on the roster. Finnegan was a PR way back, not sure who else? The Georgia WR kid in UDFA maybe?

Fogg ran a 4.45 at his pro day, VJ 33", 3-cone 7.08', 10'04" BJ, 1.54 10-yd split. Height 5'10" 182lbs. He had private workouts with the Falcons and Pats (together with Aikens both times) and was picked up by the Skins after the draft, but cut after rookie tryouts.

FCS All-American Special Teams in 2013, fwiw.

and he made it around the world in 80 days

Seems to have pretty good vision and ball instincts. I wish him success.

Nice nameplate helmet. Wonder if they'll let him keep his Fogg hat.
