Does anyone here realize that he has played in the same exact offense since high school?

And some people wanted us to draft him in the 2nd or 3rd. The kid has run the same exact weird offense since then, and from what I have seen of him he's not even that great...at all.

meh, I like him. Sure he's played in the same offense, but he's got all the tools you want in a QB. Sure his teams have sucked, but he's put up decent numbers.

Of course, I see him as a 3rd or 4th round guy.

Depending on workouts the third might be an ok slot for him. Hes got the tools and everything. I see him here locally and hes played well for Houston, not bad looking.

4th round would be great pickup, 3rd round a bit of a reach. If we do draft him dont expect anything until 2009. He'll need that much time to get used to the pro game

Because people on here have been making him look like a complete stud, which he is not. Hell, if any QB had 8 years in the same system and played against the competition that Kolb has played against, I would HOPE he would put up the numbers he does.

yeah, i mean, just look at all the kevin kolb threads out there talking about how great he is.

again, you're not saying anything to make me think he's garbage. somehow i'm supposed to believe that just because he played in this offense for 8 years that means he'll be "garbage" at the next level? use logic.

Use logic? What if he lands on a team like the Dolphins that changes OC's like most people change underwear and has to digest an entirely different offense. The terminology, the hot reads, etc, plus the fact that it will be an incredibly difficult playbook to digest in the NFL vs. a modified high school offense.

again, that doesn't reflect at all on your comment that he's "garbage." you might be able to say something like:

"i don't think we should take a chance on kevin kolb because he's been in the same offense since high school."

see, that's a lot better than this:

"kevin kolb is garbage because he's only been in one offense his whole career."

that makes no sense.

also, it's pretty dumb because how many QB's have gone through great offensive changes throughout high school and college? very few.

you're making a huge assumption that just because he was in the same offense since high school, he will be "garbage." you'll have to give a better reason than that.

Hes got alot of the qualities u want in a QB....Mobility,good arm, good decision maken and a leader.

And if i am not mistaken thats what was said about Alex Smith qb from utah who played the same offense through out his career, which wasnt ur typical offense in the nfl.Hes doing fairly well isnt he?
