Kevin Smith... what are you doing ?

At what point did he sound like a jerk?

If you don't like players keeping a video diary, then don't watch them.
 
I typed kevin smith for highlights and landed on this, and was very disapointed, i do not search diaries and go all happy because i'll be able to criticize it on finheaven lol.... i wanted to show this you guys and hear what you think about him but mostly about those kinda players, how you feel about them. or how ya feel about this kinda stuff .... i realize he must be doing this just for fun and for his fans at UCF, but at some point, talking about "Kevin 2007" is a bit farfetched... that's only my opinion
 
If he was looking to be drafted by the National Eloquence League, this would hurt him...wait...no i t wouldn't....he wouldn't even be on any team's radar. They wouldn't even know who he is. It would be the equivalent of a random student from some community college talking about his future in the NFL.

As far as hurting his status for the NFL draft? Nah.
 
he is a College kid what do you expect from him if he is there in the 4th round i would like to get him but that wont happen
 
He just seemed confident to me...not really jerk-like.

I don't see how this would affect his draft stock at all.

Positives/Negatives: Smith led the nation in rushing as a junior. He finishes his runs and will stiff arm defenders. Smith is experienced in the passing game as a blocker and receiver. He has a long, strong frame with room to fill out. However, his number of 2007 carries is staggering and sends up a red flag. Smith had 30 or more in eight games and 40+ in four. He faced weak defenses in C-USA and was benched for a game in 2006 for disciplinary reasons.

Verdict: Smith has decent all-around measurables, but is a shifty back who sometimes runs too high. He may be just now coming into his own as a player, but his long-term upside is limited because of his average athleticism. Smith's NFL career may be shortened due to his startling overuse at UCF.

That's alright. He didn't have a whole lot to say after USF shut him down, and won't have a whole lot more to say when he's a 4th round draft pick. Shoulda gone back for his senior year, but I can tell by this video, he doesn't appear too educated.

had this feeling also... but I have mixed feelings because i'm feeling too harsh on this but still..the nfl is not like passing from HS to NCAA, it's a huge step and it's a professional league, and he just doesn't represent the "professional" term, no matter how good his intentions are/were...this being said you can't judge the guy because we obviously do not know him, but those vids give us hints...
 
I'm with fishypete here, there's an age-old maxim for the draft and that is runners always fall. I remember when people were talking like it would be impossible for Ciatrick Fason to fall past the top of the second round. LOL. I love Kevin Smith but this happens to be one of the deepest RB drafts I've ever seen.

And that video, aside from being just a touch pathetic...did nothing to hurt his draft stock. That's ridiculous. If anything it helps his PUBLIC draft stock (which means the media, not the scouts) inasmuch as you can see that he's not some fast-talking jerk talkin about gang-banging and getting his and get rich or die tryin, blah blah blah. Compare and contrast this videos with Brandon Flowers' facebook page sometime (if you can find it archived somewhere). CLEAR difference between what actually has an impact on the bottom line, and what does not.
 
Yea if you watch all the other video's in his video diary he actually seems like a really responsible kid and even had his little brother move in with him. As far as him personally ive never met him but the whole usf fan base loves this guy for his game and as a person, i've never heard a bad thing about him plus ive heard a few good things regading personal interactions. Like CK said theres a big difference b/t a guy who has pictures with drugs and stuff on here facebook page (Flowers) and a guy who makes videos with his little brother. I'd like to get him if hes there with a value pick, i think hes a real player.
