I remember watching him play before he got hurt last year. He seemed to be stuffing the run affectively, and his # was being called a lot. I have not heard to much of him in the off season, but IMO i think he's going to be a playmaker on defense. What's everyones opinion on where he'll fit in and how is going to do?

He was stuffing the run alot and he was one of the surprises of camp last year before he got hurt. If he can come back fully from the injury he's going to surprise alot of people this year. I have a feeling he's going to either take Vonnie's place soon or be our version of what Richard Seymour is in the 3-4.

I've been saying that all offseason. People want to pencil Evans and people like that over him but I don't see it. Saban recruited him at MSU and obviously was getting the most out of him before that injury. Carter got hot when a reporter tried to compare him to Manny when he was stuggling last year and it sounded like KC wanted to take his head off.

I hope you guys are right. I love when our team gets a steal that no one pays attention to and flys under the radar. No media coverage then...BAMN this guys incedible.

Too often it happens to other teams. It would be nice for it to happen to the phins , to have another star in the lineup without knowing it yet.

(ie: Kurt Warner, Jake Delomme, Tom "your time is over" Brady)

Actually between Ronnie , Channing and Daniels they started more games than any rookie class in the entire league. Throw in Manny and Roth and all the praise Kevin was getting last year it seems as if the tides on that has already turned. Crowder slipped to the 3rd Daniels was a 4th Vickerson was a 5th and Manny a supplemental really young kid. All of which got quality time. I just can't wait to see what he does with an entire draft.

I was hopeful for Vic. as well. Early speculation is, however, the coaching staff hasn't been wowed by him. We tried to add depth to our line (and still are trying.) If we do land Big Daddy, Vic's chances of making the roster weigh heavily on training camp. This info on the coaching staff's attitude twords him surfaced probably 2 months ago, or so. Not hearing anything new makes me believe he still hasn't caught their eye. I too would love to see him be a contributing force for years to come.

Do you have details on that? I dont remember that and would like to see it.

There are five young defensive linemen who are being looked at to step up. Vickerson, M. Wright, R. Wright, Evans, and Fafita. R. Wright is likely going to end up at least on PUP if not IR but the other four will be fighting for jobs.

Fafita is a pure NT but the other three could play either the RDT in a 4-3 or the RDE in the 3-4 as well as NT. IMO it will be the one of them who displays the most versatility that gets the job.

I liked the reports on Vickerson last camp, especially Carter's positive comments regarding him. I hope he comes back all the way and makes an impact.

I haven't heard any of that either. I would however have liked to have heard that more of our youngsters was hitting the weight and training rooms with Manny when they reported he and Daunte and Spagen were there everyday after everyone leaves.

We got Vic in the 7th. That makes him more of a sleeper. Hopefully he'll turn some heads soon.

Thanks for the correction. I slip from time to time.

I wouldn't be concerned until TC starts and someone starts saying these things. Minis really aren't that important except for the players that haven't been there before or has had a coaching change. Also if someone is out of shape it's a chance to work with the training staff and weight room. Mini's for others is just a way to meet new teammates and coaches IMO.

dfentely a great player just hat to see them get hurt and not be able to finish a season
