it seems to me that miami is going ot be picking up some KEY YOUNG FA this year if they are thinking about maybe releasing carter holliday and traylor. they all have played extremely well so i wonder why they might go. who does he plan on bringing in or doing. this shoul dbe extremely interesting

Carter is staying after this year, or else we wouldnt of signed him to what a 4 year or 5 year contract?

I think that Carter and Holiday will be here, maby not Traylor or Lance though.

I really want to see Traylor and Holliday stay. Both of these guys have played great for us this year. Even if we draft another DT or NT. I would like to keep these guys, you can never have enough depth ot those positions. Traylor is getting old so maybe they go after someone like Sam Adams, but he is signed through 2006 so I would like to see him back for next year.

id like to see taylor, carter, sam adams, holliday
crowder, thomas, peterson
madison, schulters, corey chavous, bly

your dreaming, wake up... we will get Julian Peterson but I don't see us getting any other player you listed, Madison may be gone and we could get Nate Clemens, I also want to see us get Tank Williams and David Carr if the Texans are stupid enough to cut him or let him go

I doubt we really toss those players. Kevin Carter is probabaly here no matter what. I dont know why we would let go of Vonnie Holiday, unless he doesnt think he will get enough playing time with Manuel Wright as a potential/probable starter next season.

Keith Traylor I wouldnt expect us to get rid of. Grady Jackson and Sam Adams are probabaly going to be out there, but both of them are the same kind of player.

LeCharles Bentley would be a key FA pick-up if we can get him, he would complete our o-line

I could deal without having David Carr. As much as a qb is needed he hasnt' done that much to impress me. Yes I know his supporting cast is far from amazing, but a qb needs to be a playmaker and help make stuff happen. That being said I could see McNair or Kitna helping out in this position more then Carr. I know Kitna has been under the radar for the past year or so and people could say Carr's a better choice, but Kitna was also the same guy that helped groom Palmer who is now tearing it up and leading the Bungles to a great season. Kitna then would be my choice to have under the center and to help groom a young rookie qb.

Bentley would be awesome as well as Tank Williams or Chris Hope. All of them are young and would improve our talent in their units.

+1 for Bentley. But he is much better at guard than Center. He has been miscast at the Center position for past two years. At guard he will dominate!

He's going to the PB as a center

I don't know where the idea that these guys are all going to be released came from, but Carter and Holliday's contracts were set up to give Saban a year to evaluate them. Carter has been great. Holliday has had his ups and downs. Traylor probably will be gone or released and re-signed cheaper if he doesn't pick up with someone else. Wright and Vickerson's promise make this possible. Even if all of these guys are released, look for Saban/Meuller to find replacements that can do the job for us. I think every year we will see these kind of signings of veteran FAs that will only be with us for a year or so...

Kitna didn't 'groom' Palmer...that talent was there. He was just a stop-gap for Lewis until Palmer matured. Kitna is a second level player. His potential is reached. Carr, however, has not reached his potential and has much greater physical skills as Kitna. He has not impressed and you're right that much of that is due to his coaching and supporting cast. Now if you wanted to take Kitna and still draft someone in the first 2 rounds, ok. But to think that he can be relied on to take us to the next level...no possible way....

It will really depend on which way Saban/Meuller want to go. There are ties to Brooks (Mueller drafted him in NO). I haven't figured out exactly what Saban's ultimate QB is yet...does he want a series of stop-gap guys (Frerotte, Kitna, McNair, etc) or does he want a young gun to groom ??? He said one thing last year, and did something else...so we will just have to wait and see...
