My Top Matchups:

Will Allen Vs. Brandon Marshall-
Obviously the best player on the field for the Broncos, Brandon Marshall is going to give our secondary problems. He's Terrel Owens junior. Big physical guy and we saw what Anquan Boldin did to us. We will need a safety over the top ALL game.

Jake Long Vs. Elvis Dumervil
The guy had 12.5 sacks last year so he's a threat. If Long can contain him, Pennington could have all day to pick apart the horrendous Broncos secondary. No other threats on that D-line.

Joey Porter Vs. Ryan Clady
Clady has been superb so far this season. He has a huge test this Sunday against the NFL's leading pass rusher. Porter needs to get to Cutler to help out our weak secondary or else it could be Arizona game part II.

Ted Ginn Vs. Dre Bly
This is the matchup I'm most intrigued by. Did the Dolphins finally utilize Ginn correctly? Or was it just a one game thing? We'll see but with Champ Bailey out, Ginn and his speed, hands, and newfound route-running abilities can have another huge game here.

A few things that are likely to occur no matter how one analyzes is...
1)Shanahan and his run blocking schemes are gonna give nice gains for their no-name running backs. (Pittman is averaging 4.6 yards per carry and Young is averaging 5.7 yards per carry) We really need Ferguson and Solai to play huge Sunday. Their offense scares me.
2)The R&R express should have their best game thus far, whether its wildcat or base offense.

Other notes...
-Brandon Stokely and Tony Scheffler should play after missing some time.
-I'd be interested on matching Jason Allen, who seems to be more physical than Will Allen on Brandon Marshall. Might be a huge risk. And Andre Goodman as the nickel would be nice.

Final Score Prediction: Miami- 24 Denver-16
Most would say this will be a high scoring game but I just read that the Broncos will put more emphasis on the running game to keep that horrendous defense off the field. Plus with Cutler cooling off after a fast start, this could be just what they need.
Denver's run defense is horrible and I see Sparano, being on the road to use smash mouth football and clock management to keep the high-powered Broncos offense off the field. LETS GO FINS

I didnt know we were playing the falcons if we have to worry about ginn matchin up with foxworth

Don't forget about Ferguson vs. Wiegmann (C). Tom Nalen is out for the season with a knee injury. All of us know that stopping the run lives and dies with Ferguson. The Texans averaged 4.2 YPC against us while running the same zone-blocking scheme that Denver will run. When the Broncos aren't moving the ball on the ground well, Cutler tends to force throws where they shouldn't be thrown in order to compensate for the team's current lack of defense. My friend (Bronco's fan) put it in perspective by saying "Cutler seems to feel like he needs to make big plays because he knows in the back of his mind that the defense more than likely won't stop the other team's next drive." Stopping the run and getting to Cutler is going to be a must this Sunday.

I think offensively we need to see a lot of Ronnie and Ricky. Establishing the run early on can set up play-action, which has proven to be somewhat of a problem for Dre Bly. (Remember Monday night last year when Favre and Jennings hooked up on the first play of overtime...) Also, as I said earlier, we need to keep their offense off of the field. Running the ball effectively is a must for us. This is a team that we do NOT want to get into a shootout with. Let's face it, their offense has a lot more firepower than ours. We won't survive a gunslinger's duel any time soon, at least not until Henne is groomed and ready to go (Next year maybe?).

I think that if we keep the ball on the ground and move it effectively and the defense does what it has to do in stopping the run and getting pressure on Cutler, we have a good shot at pulling out a win. However, if Cutler gets time and find's Marshall in the right place at the right time, watch out. I've seen the guy make 7 (No, I'm not kidding you at all... SEVEN) defenders miss on his way to the end zone. That's the type of talent we're dealing with when we're talking about Denver's offense.

Haha ya Marshall is a BEAST.. Probably the best WR the Fins will see all year, outside of Moss

mandal24, I hope you are right about the final score. I am actually going to be at the game with my brother and my Dad (they are bronco fans). This game worries me because of our soft secondary and their strong passing game. But I still think we can sneak out of mile high with a win.

GOOOOOOOOOOO FINS:D

I agree, we need some physical guys with size matching up with these big wr's. I don't consider it anymore of a risk than having Goodman or W.Allen cover him. Both of them have been mediocre (imo) and are too small (5'10" each). Jason Allen was around the ball all game last Sunday and looked pretty good in coverage as well. That would enable Will Allen to cover Eddie Royal which I think would be a great matchup.

Good Post. Our front seven is going to have to play awsome for us to win this game. We cant stack the box or were gonna get beat deep. So stopping the run will be key. We also need to keep Cutler in the pocket because he is dominate when he throws outside the pocket on the run. We need J-Pezzy to have another 2 sack performance and we need another sack or two from the supporting cast. I would like to see us show some cool blitz packages like we did vs the Jills. J-Allen on a corner blitz.....Roth and J on the same side rushing the passer. All in all im basically saying whats been said.......Stoping the run and pressuring Cutler will be key to stopping thier offense. and if our secondary can have a performance like the one against the Jills......we will be in good shape on the defensive side of the ball.

I dont know if Allen will be covering Marshall... During Houston and Buffalo, I think it was Goodman who was covering Johnson and Evans.. Not sure why, i was asking myself duting the games what the heck he was doing on the numbers 1... Unless we played mostly zone coverages, but I dont remember seeing much zone coverages.

Chad Pennington's arm strength vs Denver's thin mountain air - Maybe we'll see a pass over 20 yrds.

You posted what I was thinking too. Give Jason Allen, a bigger CB who matches up better, some safety help over the top and let him try and limit Marshall.

Will Allen will have better success covering Royal, even one-on-one, due to his speed.

The key is to be able to run on the Bronco defense, while shutting down the run of their offense and forcing Cutler into some INT/fumbles.

We might struggle a little defensively with Denver's running scheme. They use the same one in Houston and Slaton and Green had a pretty good game with the cut back. I expect Marshall to have a huge game so when the secondary has a chance at an interception, they need to get it.

If you look at the games, TEs have had a good time against Denver so hopefully Fasano and Martin keep the chains moving.

I'm not talking about YAC. A short pass to Cobbs that goes for 80 yards isn't a deep pass. CP is having a great year and I voted for him already for the Pro Bowl. And I haven't seen all the games because they aren't always on here. But when I have watched, I haven't seen any 50-60 yard in the air passes....idiot.

you should probably check out teddy G's highlights from last weeks game or read any of the posts about teddy on the first two pages here before you go throwing around the "idiot".
