Tom Garfinkel tweeted from the stadium last week that it is 26 degrees cooler in the shade at the stadium. What he was really saying is that the Dolphins will be in 75-80 degree temps while they recuperate at game time and the opposing teams will be in 101-106 degree temps in direct sunlight.

The home crowd should be much louder with the roof and the fact they are now closer to the field. It's going to be so nice to have that home field advantage for once.

This could be huge for Miami. Especially if they go up-tempo. We could go undefeated at home or close to it.

this is probably the most exciting piece of news i've been able to hear all season.

mainly because it isn't speculation. it will be louder, it will be cooler, and it will have an impact on the conditioning of our fans and players.

the renovations may just be "band-aids" but ya know what? band-aids are a necessity in certain cases, and this team couldn't afford a full blown surgery.

fins up

Is the roof up yet? I've been waiting to see a video of what it looks like for real, not just a rendering of it.

we have sucked at home in Sept/Oct the last several years:
1-1 in 2015
1-2 in 2014
1-2 in 2013
1-2 in 2012
0-3 in 2011

back in the day we used to roast our opponents, lately it seems we have been exhausted. I hope this helps

That damn Nick Saban bubble. Just a bunch of softies since we put that thing up. Should only be used in lightning situations. Rain, heat, humidity, etc they need to play in the elements. Gase doesn't like the thing, so that is good.

everyone is frightened that we start two on the road. almost better off, cooler weather and one team that starts off slow and one that may not have their qb

I guess I'm going to have to save my nickels and fly down this year for my first live Dolphins game ever

agreed. Was not uncommon to begin the season 3-1 or 4-0 with some help from the heat/humidity. Can it be taken down or is it as much about player safety nowadays?

Don't know. What other NFL teams in "hot" cities have a bubble?

That 26 degrees is compounded by the Dolphins wearing all white for daytime home games, forcing the visitors into dark uniforms. When the Dolphins hosted the Raiders several years ago, the CBS sideline reporter stuck dial thermometers inside a jersey from each team, laid them on the field at the 1 p.m. kickoff, and measured the results at the end of the third quarter. The Raiders jersey was at least 10-12 degrees hotter.

It all started with that stupid indoor practice field that they used to hide under when it got too hot. Then after they had a couple years of struggling on game day they moved the time. Gase has them outdoors in the heat, and I'm sure he wants those 1 pm start times.

It won't matter since the NFL has been scheduling all the division home games in October, November and December when no one has the advantage.
