just got back from watching my beloved mountaineers beat louisville, now im excited to watch my beloved dolphins beat the patriots...i believe the key to this game is in the battle of the trenches....if the fins want to win we need to establish ourselves on the offensive and defensive lines...offensively we need to be able to run the ball right at new england, which will set up our passing game and keep pressure off of pennington...defensively, we need our defensive line to get pressure on cassel and force him into some quick and bad throws which could cause there offense to struggle and force some turnovers...hopefully we dominate in these areas and come out with a victory and are tied with the overrated jets

The trenches are a factor amongst other things....But the 2 most important stats IMO are 3rd down conversion rate and Time of Possessoin.

i will give you that 3rd down conversions are huge, but they are a huge factor in every game you play....time of possession could be misleading...you could have more plays than the other time and have the ball longer, but if you don't score, it doesn't matter

misleading how? we are 6-0 when we have more T.O.P.....

true but we need to score more when we have the ball for so long.. We have drives but sometimes they stall.. While I love our team and while things are so different we need to control the ball better and be more aggressive on play calling. I see where he is coming from and just because we can run the ball for the whole drive as opposed to the other team passing on every down.. time of possession can be misleading. Especially a pick 6.. Now I do understand time of possession is import, i would love to have that and a win. Cheers to 40 minutes of possession and 30 points.

The key will be can our D get off the field on 3rd down.
AND WE NEED TURNOVERS

We need to play smart, tough and disciplined. That means NO turnovers, NO stupid penalties and NO big returns by the Patriots on kickoffs or punts!!!!! And also NO missed tackles right and left either!!!!

i understand your point...but having time of possession doesn't guarantee a win, all it guarantees is that you have more plays on offense and that the other teams defense is on the field more

turnovers and having new england having short drives that end up in punts will be a big factor as well in coming out with a sweep of the patriots tomorrow

We have been solid on taking care of the ball and being disciplined, but argh!!!!!!! Special teams scare me. Another key will be take advantage of opportunities NE gives us. Probably won't be many so we have to capitalize on those few.

We need to contain Cassel. That means double teaming Moss(similiar to the Jets last week) and keeping Welker in front of us to limit YAC. It also means pressure from Porter and Holliday and spying him with a LB to limit his running. He has ran for many first downs this year.
