- The deep ball. Frerotte hasn't been that good on the deep ball tonight (in all fairness, he hasn't been lucky either). If Feeley goes in today and throws deep well, it will help him tremendously.

- Mistake free football. Frerotte had a pick tonight, Feeley needs to keep the slate clean.
 
I would also add that he checks down his recievers. That should also be a key for him.
 
If he looks even ok he needs to start next week. Gus proved tonight he is not going to cut it. Jay Fiedler was more accurate on the deep ball than this guy. He flat out sucks. This isn't coming from a Feeley homer either. For the second week I was hoping Gus would solidify the starting job, but he just is not a good QB.
 
He just threw it WAY too hard to the guy over the middle just now. But otherwise he's looked good.

I wish he would have gotten a chance with the 1st team tonight.

I'd just like to see Feeley throw more than 5 yards before naming him the starter. Right now he's passing short and his stats are inflated by yac.

Feeley is showing more and more that he is a west coast offense style of quarterback. He just refuses to look down the field.
