Here are some of the key things I think we should look for tonight:

1) WR position - I think this might be the best preseason battle we have. Its been overlooked because of the importance of the qb controversy. We have many WRs who can play IMO. Im most interested to see how Mann does tonight. I have been impressed with him so far, even though he has played against 2nd and 3rd string defenses. It want to see how he does with more playing time, which it looks like he will get tonight. Right now I think you need to keep him over Thompson, becasue Thompson hasnt really done much to impress and Mann could be a sleeper in the waiting.

2) O-Line - Can we continue to improve here? Can anyone from the second team fight there way into the starting lineup, or will our current starters prove they are worthy? Will keep a close eye on McKinney, as he is one of the ones who worries me most.

3) Secondary - Especially safety on this one. Bua is fighting to make the team, lets see if he can step it up here or on special teams. I want to see if Schulters has improved at all. Im rooting for him to make the necessary adjustments to Saban's defense and become the starter. Will also want to watch a little more of Tillman, I havent watched him that closely but want to tonight.

4) QB - Im not going to go into much detail here as we have seen the thousands of threads dedicated to the subject and know what's at stake. Honestly I dont root for either QB over the other. I think the best thing that can possibly happen is for one of them to really shine tonight and put an end to the questions of who should be the starter.

5) Saban's schemes - I have a feeling so far in the preseason that Saban hasnt tipped his hand on many of the offensive and defensive schemes we will be using this season. I wonder if we will get a little preview tonight. Maybe some extra blitzing or something. Cant wait to see what he has up his sleeve (although this might have to wait till the denver game).

Those are my basic thoughts on what to watch for. Please add your comments and additions...

after tonight the QB thing is settled thats the good thing but the bad thing is that neither of them are too good

IMO, I don't think that he will show too much scheme-wise, especially since we play Atlanta during the regular season.

Yeah I agree, guess it was just wishful thinking. I cant wait to see it though. I have a good feeling that saban hasnt shown much of what he is going to bring to the table.

Ronnie getting some decent touches and a decent number of reps is important... we'd all like to see him start in 10 days time against the Broncos, and we've only seen 6 carries out of him so far.

Hope some of you kind souls will give us a run down on the game tonite...We, here in Orlando, cannot get the game on TV or radio (seems like the college games are taking over tonite) Anxious to know how we did...A million thanks!

Definitely lots of Ronnie Brown... But not just ramming the ball straight ahead... Throw the whole playbook at him... I wanna see him all over the place, picking up blitzes, in motion, out of the slot, lead blocking... heck, let's see if he can throw the ball!!

oh yeah... and no injuries... please...

we should try out Wes Welker at QB, heck he can do everything else

Nobody get hurt. Dont care if we lose. Get our starters in there for 2 drives and end it. Find out who else gets cut. Drink beer.

I'd like to see Brown in the passing game...Last week, with R&R in the backfield, they threw to Ricky...I'd like to see him spread out once in a while and catch some balls...but that may not be done because he still is not in "playing" shape and really needs the reps as a runner and take some hits...

I also think there's a subtle battle going on between Booker and Boston for the #2 WR position. If one of those guys shows he can draw double teams, he's going to start, and I think Boston has the better chance of doing that. If Boston can draw double teams with his athleticism, that changes our whole offense.

I would like to see what Diamond can do with more opportunities against starters. If, like severeal of you have stated, he should surplant Lee as the 2nd TE, he should get the opportunity to prove it tonight.

I also would like to see more of Morris than we have to date. I think he has ability if given the chance to show it.
