The Ted Ginn revenge factor scares me.
Don't solely focus on Teddy, remember we drafted the entire Ginn family too, I fear that they will come back with a vengeance as well.
The Ted Ginn revenge factor scares me.
Gotta get an early lead and force them to throw. If we get down early, say goodnight cause our run d has been sickening this year. I expect nothing less than 200 yards on the ground from them.
Luckily for us there RBs really suck.
They're currently 10th in the league in rushing yards per game.
1. Stop the run first. Whether it's through run blitzes into their preferred gaps or sneaking Jones up to toward the line of scrimmage, Coyle and the defense must figure out how to stop the Panther's rushing attack. What is usually a strength for our defense has been a weakness the last 3 weeks. The defense needs to go back to basics on run leverage, taking proper angles to the ball carrier, and wrapping up.
2. Give Newton new looks from the secondary. Newton has gotten better, but you can see that his thought process is still slow when he has to look away from his primary read. Disguise the coverage constantly and force him to take an extra second in the pocket. When he has to think, his game breaks down. Force him to be a pocket passer. Bringing us to the next point...
3. Keep Newton in the pocket. Newton is dangerous when the lanes breakdown. He has innate ability to escape and make a play out of nothing. The defense must be disciplined in its rush, and stay in their individual lanes. It might even require more of a containment style pass rush than one designed to sack the QB. Coyle, forget all the ridiculous stunts up front and keep the line in their individual lanes.
4. Stay patient on offense. Rivera's defenses are designed to make an offense slowly chew up yardage. The defense is designed to minimize mistakes and big plays. Tannehill must be willing to take what they give him. If it's 100 check downs, he better complete 100 check downs. Kuechly and Davis are good coverage LB, and their going to try to take the middle of the field away from Tannehill. Tannehill prefers the middle (look at the targets to Clay, Matthews, and Gibson). He'll have to take the short stuff to the outside when it is there. Those are the keys as I see it. One more thing, if someone gives up a long TD catch or return to the Ginn Family, I will freak out.
Luckily for us there RBs really suck.
And? there RBs still suck.
I don't think you have a working understanding of Carolina.
they have 3 RBs better than anyone on our roster. Tolbert may be the best but Williams is still a beast. When they wanted to run on the 49ers last week, they ran. They showed run and shoved it down the throat of one of the better run defenses. They are very physical and are playing with a ton of confidence. I hate betting against the pats because they seem to always find a way to win, but I am putting money on the kitties tonight. Right now I see the panthers and seahawks as the two best teams in the NFC. The saints are good but they are not as good as the panthers on a neutral field.
I watch them weekly since I live in South Carolina.
Without Newton there running game has been practically invisible from Williams..
D. Williams isn't having a better year than Miller, yes Lamar Miller.

No so far this year Miller has performed the same as Williams, who leads there team in rushing..
The Panthers are treating their Monday night against the Pats like it is their Super Bowl. If they lose they could come into the game against the Dolphins down, and could be ripe for a beating
Williams has 98 more yards than Miller on 31 more attempts in one less game. If your only standard of performance is YPC, I disagree with your approach.
So he has 98 yards on 31 carries MORE than the pretty average Lamer Miller? That somehow makes him good?
Anyways, Johnathon Stewart is the best RB on that team and he's been hurt. There's a significant difference in there running O when he's not there.
