And so, one figures, Johnson knows as much as anyone about what Parcells is hoping to get out of receiver Ted Ginn Jr. Johnson thinks if Parcells is hoping for Ginn to become Miami's No. 1 receiver, that is simply not going to happen.

"[Ginn] had a good year," Johnson said. "He had a great year I think. In his second year he showed progress at times. He had a [175]-yard game I think. He's doing OK.

"But he's a guy that is not your elite receiver. He's not your lead dog. He's a guy who needs other guys around him. You can't expect him to do everything, that's just not who he is. But he is productive."
"Oh," Johnson said, "I think he's a good No. 2."

Keyshawn talks as if he was an elite WR. Which he never was. If anything else, it should be motivation for Teddy entering the offseason workouts.

Ginn will really benefit from a guy like Nicks or Britt lining up at the other receiver position. I don't think Ginn is a 1500+ yard, 10+ touchdown type of receiver, but he can still be very good.

The whole play likes a dear, scared comment makes me mad. Whatever Keyshawn. Ginn is making the progression from good to great and he will be a solid #1 for many years to come.

In 11 seasons, Me-shawn only had ONE season with double-digit TD's. For a big, red-zone target ... that's terrible. He had 7 season UNDER 1,000 yards. Yeah, Me-shawn sure is an authority on who or who is not a lead dog.

im not sure if i disagree with him, i dont think he is that guy that can take it all on himself. I think he will be no better than an awesome number 2. Which is not a bad thing, just not a true number 1.

Marvin Harrison played like that for his entire career. Sure didn't hurt his production. Ginn's biggest problem is, he doesn't have someone like Peyton Manning throwing him the ball or taking advantage of his strengths. While Ginn may never be as good as Harrison or some other players in that same mold, he'd could look worlds more productive playing in a pass-friendly system with an above average-to-elite QB.

I really dont see what he said as all that terrible. Ginn looks to me as if he is progressing nicly and I dont think he has peaked yet. He may or may not become the reciever everyone hopes that he does but for now it remains to be seen. Ginn lacks physical dominance but he can develop that or he can use his speed to compensate. Time will tell.

People take everything to heart. It's funny. It's just one guys opinion, and he is so far correct. A #1 receiver does not run out of bounds to avoid hits.

Ginn is going to be a great WR but he needs a physical, possession WR on the other side. People get so obsessed with #1 and #2, when the reality is that you need 2 guys out there who both demand double teams. Who cares what number they are, they are both starting.

You are right. Ginn could be a great player regardless of number 1 or 2. And no it doesnt matter what he is as long as hes productive, which hes shown he can be so far. Lets see what he can do with someone opposite from him who can give him some help as well.
