Keyshawn Johnson Released. Fins Try and Get Him??

Meshawn certainly doesn't fit the mantra of "young and fast" that Mule and Cam have decreed...

I think if they were interested in a Keyshawn type, they wouldn't be shopping Booker around ??

Keyshawn hasn't been a 'star' in years .... and he brings NOTHING to the table for this team ....

So, NO .....

He's definatley not the same Keyshawn anymore .. but I bet some team out there will jump on him fast. He can probaby still be a good 2 - 3rd veteran reciever which some teams need.

I think that miami could use a good handed posession receiver and he fits the bill. He certiantly is not afraid to go over the middle which is a nice thing to have. But he may not be the right fit for us right now... He would want to much money as well...

While I don't think Mueller/Cameron will immediately reject the idea, I don't see it going anywhere really. If they reach a deal for Booker, or release him, and don't feel Hagan is a suitable No. 2 Receiver, and Keyshawn doesn't want No. 1 Receiver money, then it's possible.

Honestly though, replacing Booker with Keyshawn would be a waste. Why waste cap space to replace one aged possession Receiver for another aged possession Receiver?

He's a good #2 WR, but WR certainly isn't a need for us.

We have a clog at WR with Chambers, Booker, Ginn, & Hagan.

There are certainly a few others (Hakim, Campbell) capable of being #5 WR's.

Unless Booker is moved, then this is sort of moot.

Going and getting Keyshawn would be what I like to call a "Wannstedt" move. We are rebuilding and a signing like that could potentially stunt the growth of younger talent. It may be a few more years until we see January football again, but I, like many of you, I'm sure want to see this done right for once. We need to build through the draft and sign quality free agents that fit Cam's system. Imagine where we could be right now if the carelessness/recklesness of the Wannstedt/Speilman regime made sound personnel decisions instead of trading away numerous draft picks for useless players and drafting players that were not even fit to play in the systems they were running at that time!

You must mean former over(self)-hyped star.

Honestly, the players that you REALLY want. Are rarely ever cut.

Keyshawn's not fast but he's a good end-zone target, which we sorely lack. Our current WR's are slim, short, and skinny.

why whenever someone is cut the Dolphins NEED to take them?

It was a question... not a statement. No one has said it is a good idea, yet. However, you absolutely should EVALUATE everybody that is cut.
********
Keyshawn is better than Az-hakim. Az-hakim will be cut.

Keyshawn could make the team... but as pointed out earlier... there are other places that need him more than us. Probably not a good fit. Maybe he can go to Philly or Green Bay. It seems like they always are in need of a receiver.
