Because real soon here, he'll be stepping away from the game again," Johnson, an ESPN analyst, said on a conference call. "You can see where the Miami Dolphins of the pre-season are starting to look like a Tony Sparano football team, under the guise of him more so than it was under Coach Parcells last year.

I think there is no doubt this is Sparano's team. While I see BP staying just a little longer, Meshawn is right this team is Sparano's team.

I guess this puts to rest all of the crap that Bill will leave because of the "celebrity" owners. Tony and Jeff pretty much have a handle on things, Bill will probably stick around for next season and he'll call it a career.

Parcells was here to give a hand to tony... there's no better way to impose respect and confidence in a group of guys than having one of the best coaches/program builder in the history of the game

if tony came here alone with jeff, i can bet you a whole lot that the outcome would've been different, but now that the players are buying into this team via Sparano's leadership on its own (as we hear... no dolphin player ever said that to me but by watching the press conferences on internet, you clearly see those guys are behind tony) parcells becomes less usefull than he was at the beginning of the whole rebuilinding process

Bill, you're probably the biggest unsung hero from this turnaround with chad pennington, we owe you, big time !

Why would Bill Parcells want to retire? He loves horses and spring baseball and he gets that all down here. He's near the best beaches for swimming, best waters for fishing, best greens for driving and his current position gives him ample time to enjoy it all. He's at the upper echelons of a game he loves, he's still respected enough to garner every and anyone's ear, and he's wildly successful at it. Where is the motivation to leave it behind, really?

Retirement is a killer, Bill. My grandfather retired at 82 and spent the many following years of his life breaking stuff around the house just to have a reason to fix it. Take a seat, Big Tuna. Watch some tape and do what you do best: evaluate. We need you, we want you, we love having you.

Has this been Parcells team? Perhaps to a point from a distance...but who was the guy that was the front man since last season. With or without Parcells...the Dolphins will be alright...now.

Look Keyshawn is an idiot. This is the same guy who just said that the Dolphins should take Michael Vick and move Pat White to another position likw WR. He tends to talk Lot but not rePly say anything if you know what I mean.

One More Draft, One More Draft, One More Draft

At this point I think thats all he really helps with. Best move he made for us was bringing Tony and Jeff in. Now it will go from the "Trifecta" to the "Dynamic Duo"

I hope he doesnt leave, but if he does we are in GREAT HANDS NOW, thanks Big Tuna.

I totally appreciate everything Parcells has done, but I think the Phins have been Tony's team since day one. Last year the videos that were posted after wins you would always see BP in the back never saying one word. At practices he is in his golf cart and while he will occasionally call a player for a chat he stays behind the scenes and he has never made this team about him. The team has always come first.

What Im trying to say even though I hated the Tune in NE, NY and Dallas the guy is a class act and is leading us to the promise land. I hope he sticks around.

fact of the matter is that although we probably dont need him because ireland is a draft guru and sparano is doing a great job at practice but a man with his knowledge cant do anything but help.

You also have to bring up how Parcells is close friends with Ron Wolf. Wolf actually has been spotted at several minicamps in the infamous golf cart. The Tuna has an excellent mind for the game and knows his players.

Dudes! My avatar and sig are making me feel like a friggin' savant right now!

I haven't been worried one way or another by Parcells staying or leaving. He put the pieces in place for success last year and that was the meat of his job. Those pieces have shown they have what it takes to get the job done, and I only hope that they can continue to build towards long-term success by surviving this season (where we could take a disappointing step back) and surviving the QB question that is already causing debate here.

I personally think Parcells will finish his tenure in the NFL with the Dolphins. The guy is getting up there in age and I don't see him going for another NFL gig.

If he steps away I hope he stays with the team in some sort maybe just for the draft
