Anyone have any thoughts on how he will do for us this year?? Better than Olindo?? Anyone got any stats on Feeley?

I think he may be more accurate but I do think Mare sometimes has problems with our turf. The one thing that Feeley does not do anywhere near as good as Mare is kickoffs. Mare was the best in the league at kicking off and that value was underrated.

I was always a fan of Mare bebing an orange fan and all, but he choked too much. I will agree that he was great at kickoffs though.

...............Team G 1-19 20-29 30-39 40-49 50+ Tot Lg Blk Pct XP
2005 New York G 16 0-0 11-13 13-14 8-10 3-5 35-42 52 1 83.3 43-43
2006 New York G 16 0-0 7-7 10-11 6-8 0-1 23-27 47 0 85.2 38-38

Feely certainly isnt a gimme when its over 50yds. His Kickoffs arent as long but we were flattered by having Mare in that department. I think Feely will be an adequate replacement. Im not as sure about our Punter because basically hes an unknown to me.

yeah mare had great kickoffs but big deal...he choked a lot lately and even with those great kickoffs we were not going to the playoffs

I did notice that Feely was much more accurate during his two years in NY than any of the years of ATL. He's made 83% & 85% of his attempts the last two seasons respectively, he was in the upper 70s with one season right at 80% in ATL.

I guess the difference is the turf, though you would think kicking in the dome in ATL would have been better. Our field would obviously be more like NY's so if he can maintain the 83-85%, it would be a step up from Mare who has only had one year over 80% in the last 5 years.

Feely doesn't have a strong leg like Olindo but is more accurate and I wouldn't rule out the possibility of Brandon Fields doing kickoffs if he has as strong a leg as people are saying.
