Anyone know anything about where we stand as far as a kicker? Gotta admit, im not impressed with letting Mare go... :confused:
 
Did I miss something? When did we let Mare go? The last I heard, Mare is still with us.

There was speculation twice now that the Phins have asked Mare to take a pay cut. And then there were a couple of rumors about Vanderjagt and Edinger, but nothing ever came of it. The only thing I ever saw from Nick S. was that they had approached Mare about possibly restructuring his current deal to free up some cap space, but denied ever asking him to take a pay cut. Nothing has been mentioned since and that was a couple of weeks ago. Either way, he'll stay a Dolphin (for at least this year).

YEAH, YEAH, that musta been what i was talkin about!
 
the only FA kicker that I would have been interested in already signed with dallas. I know he missed the big one in the playoffs, but he is still the most accurate kicker in league history.
 
Saban was just posturing to get Mare to take a pay cut and help the team out on the salary cap. We didn't let Mare go, don't think we ever wanted to.

Cool - i like him.
Id hate to see it end up like ...man what was our last kickers name? - another good guy, wanni or johnson traded to KC, i think, and the guy was decimated - never did anything again
