We all know the love Sturgis gets and quite frankly, deserves with his shakey performance career to date. I was curious to see what FA kickers were available and the list is less than desirable.

outside of making a move for tucker which is not going to happen, are there any other legs available, or are we stuck with this major deficiency for 2015... Feely would be okay, we should have snagged Prater last year...
 
Man, I remember when Sturgis came into camp and preseason back in 2013 . . . .dude was roboleg. He fell off quick as hell.

Tucker with a 2nd rounder tender just ain't happening.

Miami just needs to bring in competition at this point (UDFA, late rounds, etc.) and may the best man win.
 
We need to replace sturgeon. His inconsistency is maddening and will lose us games
 
We need to bring in some competition in camp. Who that might be, I don't know.
 
I'd be happy with Nugent as competition. I think the entire reason we even have Sturgis is the fear the light will suddenly come on for him and he will turn into a solid starter for someone else. It's JEFF IRELAND THINKING. I'd say let's give him one more offseason WITH solid competition and go with someone else if he hasn't made a big leap in consistency.
 
Sign Prater...the guy who kicked a 64 yarder in Denver. Ohhh nevermind, he was resigned by Detroit.

Nugent resigned with Cincy.

Really the only person available on that list is Feely.
 
I believe we have some other kicker on the roster. Is he any good? I don't know anything about him.
 
Kicker and punter are traditionally the most important positions for the Dolphins and we have uncertainty at both positions which is very concerning. If we don't get better there we could very well go 7-9 instead of 8-8 which is unacceptable.
 
Question. How much of the struggles by our place kickers can be placed on special teams coach Darren Rizzi. Dan Carpenter was a pro bowl caliber kicker before Rizzi took over full time and now Sturgis continues to struggle with accuracy.
 
Id have signed Succop. Better at FGs and Kickoffs. Sturgis is done.
 
Man I hate Sturgis.... Is it that hard to find a kicker undrafted free agent? Of all the colleges out there there has to be a few decent guys
