I was just wondering... I know last season, the night before the start of the mini camp in June that is open to the public (begins June 9th this year), the Dolphins had the annual "Kickoff Banquet". Each player and coach was introduced, Coach spoke, some awards were handed out etc., and viewers were able to watch live on the Dolphins' official site. Can anyone confirm this will be taking place again this year? I ask because, I am not positive, but I remember some awards being handed out earlier this offseason, though I am not sure if these are the same ones/if this has taken the place of the banquet etc. Any information would be much appreciated.

That was the 2005 Awards Night that was held in March. Yes, there will be a kickoff banquet in June.
 
Thanks Nub, I really enjoy watching that, seeing all the new players and coaches. Plus, any time you can listen to Coach speak, I urge you to do so.

I really thought that the awards handed out at that dinner were the same ones that are normally handed out at the banquet (MVP, Community Service, Leadership).
 
I haven't heard anything about it this year. I'm taking my nefew for the 1st time this year, and I can't seem to find anything regardling when or where. I go every year, and I usually hear something by now. Strange....

I hope we get word soon....

Hope the FO invites me to sit at one of the big boy tables again.

Although, I must say, Marty Booker was a bit of a disappointment to dine with. Dude is about as open as Ricky Williams on a date with the media. I geniunely felt sorry for his uncomfort of eating with strangers. I tried to ease the tension with my trademark humor. Didn't work. He did give me some good stuff on Linehan though.

I sure will miss AJ Feely's girlfriend this year though. Dayum.

No Kickoff banquet this year.
It was backed up to the time they had it durring the Shula days.
The luncheon in the bubble is all there is. And that is to replace the breakfast they used to have.
I would not though count on the event happening in the Bubble. Personally the rumors here at the camp is it will not be done until late Sept.
 
Nice, you're very close to the team!

Hows life at the camp? what do you do all day?
