Kiko Alonso is living proof that fortunes can change rapidly in the NFL.
Alonso was pretty much a throw-in, because Miami needed cornerback help and wanted Maxwell. Alonso had one year left on his contract in a "prove it" season before becoming a restricted free agent. He had shown enough potential in Buffalo that Miami figured it was worth a shot to see what Alonso could do at this stage of his career if he got healthy again.
Alonso led Miami with 115 tackles, and on Tuesday he signed a four-year extension

He filled a spot he probably shouldn't have and did quite well under the circumstances. I swear that pick 6 is half of that extension haha.

This is the first time in his career that he will play consecutive seasons with a team. He got hurt in his 2nd year in Buffalo and was in Philly for one season. That will be a new experience for him in it itself.

From a synergistic team fit ... and a cultural standpoint, Kiko has finally made it "home."

This sends a nice message in that if you come to Miami, play well, you can be rewarded. Hopefully, this draws the Jonathen Hankins and Zack Browns of the NFL in the end.

"Alonso quieted critics by consistently finishing plays, staying around the football and helping Miami win 10 games and reach the playoffs for the first time since 2008. His best play was a game-closing pick-six for 60 yards in a win over the San Diego Chargers".
However, the yappy chihuahua has so far failed to win the respect and kudos of his harshest critic, the Sons of Shula. With Kiko now committed to the Dolphins for a further 4 years, he has taken the challenge to win SOS over and make him a believer. BTW our tiny yappy chihuahua has beefed up to 246 lbs and remain 6'3".

I just want this guy to stay on the field, like he did last year. Plug him in and not worry about him.

I hear anouther monitor screming not again not again please sos sos sos.

Not sure he's really "turned around" his career. He had a bad injury, but he's always been the same kind of player. He's also the type of player that can be misused (i.e a Philly team that didn't know how to use any of its players). So his market value was low coming off that 2015 season, mostly due to injury and ****ty staff in Philly, but he's always been the same player imo.
