Kiko Really Struggles Getting Off Blocks, Here's Just One Example

Wow. That's horrible there. If our LB's can get blocked with a WR then we can forget about stopping the run.

He’s just trying to get width there. He’s got a lead full back and the back coming behind that to deal with also. Maintain the width to take on the lead full back and the ball carrier.
Lateral flow.

The real issue here is look how far back the mike is blocked. Hell hes at the safety level and still engaged. Sealed early washed out and ridden to the safety level.

If that back cuts that back inside the mike has to be there.

They wipe out the de with the motion down tight end angle block and thats gronk who just murders guys on stuff like that.

Just another example of how well that team schemes.

I noticed that too, and honestly it was just pathetic. Thats embarrassing for a MLB who's supposed to be a run thumper to get dominated that badly on a run play. Also 19 tackles in 4 games for a MLB is just sad...

Looks like outside zone. Taking advantage of the mikes lack of horizontal range. Kikos job it to hold that back up so the mike can fill Inside out. But he’s nowhere to be found.

You got a wr impeding your lateral flow and a lead full back you got to try to stay square to and the back coming right behind. And that backs got wheels.

Sadly, our team on both side of the ball isn't built for toughness or strength or size.

It's built for finesse and speed.

Which means any team that's built with size and strength are likely to give us fits.

It would have been a better decision for Kiko to shoot the gap and take on the full back, but I am more concerned about teams consistently using the crackback on our DEs. It is a combination of issues: situational awareness for the end, communication by backers, fighting through the crackback, and scheme adjustments. There are many things going wrong.

It is the fourth game for McM. He needs to consistently improve, and he know that was not good enough.

Baker needs to learn as well. Jumping back to avoid the cutoff block seems to take too much time. Taylor and Godchaux use strength to get through the cutoff block. That will come with experience.

Lol good lord 52 sucks, wtf is he doing

I love Kiko but it is sad that he is hands down our best linebacker even with his obvious deficiencies.

He is slow and he is bad in coverage because of it, and even yet he is in position to make a play often. Hopefully these rookies can become as aware as he is for us.

I still have hope for Jerome Baker but Raekwon McMillan looks bad out there.
