So I was in Miami and WBP last week visiting friends. I was flying out on Saturday and had about 3 hours to kill....I thought why not go check out the new stadium. I was just going to take some pics from a distance, but couldn't find a good angle. I saw people driving in, so I figured what the hell. The security guard looked at me for a second, I waived at him and he waived me through. I think there was an orientation or something going on.
Anyways, I took a few pics from a distance as there was major construction going on....but no one was stopping me, so I decided to take a look around. I happened upon Dan the Man's parking spot and his statue and Don Shula's were just sitting there by a wall. I guess because of the construction.
As I walked around, I saw a spot were a tunnel went to the field. There were 3 construction guys, so I asked if I could go take a pic of the field. He asked if I had a hard hat, I said no. He then told the youngest kid there to give me his and asked how long I would be. I said less than 5 minutes, so he gave me the hard hat with the Dolphins logo on it. As I got to the tunnel, there was another guy there and I was like damn, he isn't gonna let me go. I had the hard hat and my camera has a Dolphins lanyard, so I was like I gotta get a few pics of the field.....he said go ahead! So I made it down to the end zone and got a few pics. The head greens guy took a pic and then said do me a favor and get off the field, we just sprayed pesticide hahaha. That stadium looks AMAZING inside!
I go back out and the construction guys are no where to be found, I looked hard as it was cool for them to do that. After I could not find them, I went back to the tunnel guard and told him what was up and he said just keep it man, they have a bunch of them. So I got to make it to the field and got a sweet Dolphins construction hat that was actually used in the building of the stadium.....pretty sweet day!
