Watching ESPN, and Kiper said that Miami is one team who "should" trade up in this draft. They need to get protection for their young QB, and would have to move up to the #10-12 range to get a top guy on the OL like a Martin.

That would make me sick. I like Martin, but not to move up.

Its a damn shame, i tell you. Isnt it just like our luck? This time last year we had nothing but fire power to do just that. This year, the only way would be to package a player like Jordan or ruin our first day and dig into next year as well. I dont think we can afford that.

Im in love with Jake Mathews. That footwork is a thing of beauty. Youve got your right tackle and future left tackle.

If you can get up to 10/12 relatively cheap, do it. But if you're going to sell the farm, do it big and get to the top.

But i cannot get behind trading up. You gotta hope these guys have the talent to find talent in later rounds. Unfortunately, our scouts do not make me enthusiastic in that regard.

I'd be relatively indifferent if we drafted Martin at #19. Only OL that may be available at that spot who I could come to terms with (obviously assuming Robinson and Matthews don't drop). No way in hell I'd trade for him though, especially in such a deep OL draft.

Only a dumie like Ireland would move up like that. I hope our new GM knows better than that.

We have a lot of needs elsewhere and I'm not comfortable giving up more picks for a tackle.

We don't have enough picks to be giving them away. Plus, as bad as we want a great O line, even after this draft, the line will be a work in progress, regardless. One guy isn't going to make or break it. But, with another position, it might be a difference-maker. Look what one guy (Brent Grimes) did for us. He won games.

If they trade up for a RT then everything I said about Hickey in the beginning would stand true and this little bit of crow I have eaten so far I can throw back up. Sorry if you are DESPERATE for an elite caliber LT then trade up but Miami signed on the the top LT's in the NFL already.

Who the HELL is Mel Kiper???

Depending on the cost, I would have to consider moving up for Matthews, not Martin. They say the draft is deep on the OL but, for any immediate impact, the top guys are gone by #19, and the second tier is like gone by #50. After that, it's guys to develop for a year or so.

I think a move down is more likely. A team like SF is rumored to like all the receivers the Dolphins have met with -- Lee, Cooks, etc. Those wide outs might be there at #19, but not when SF picks. That's definitely a potential trade partner and Miami could get at least another 2nd round pick in return.
