Armando Salguero of the Herald is saying that Mel Kiper is telling people that Atlanta is "In Love" with Matt Ryan and they fear Miami will take him and want to trade up with them to the number 1 pick.

If true, a swap of ones, a 2nd and DeAngelo Hall sounds good to me.

If Im Miami, I don't play hardball, if they want it they can have it. Get the hell out of the first pick and move on. If ATL wins the toss tomorrow and picks in the 3 spot. I try and move that pick as well.

Just some FYI on the latest rumor.

Where do they pick, 3, and who picks 2? Chris Long should still be available if we deal

wow, have a link ??? this would be so great man, and god knows Atl is the kind of franchise that makes those gutsy moves (remember vick ?) , they are not like, let's say, the chicago bears or the packers AKA the most conservative approach to the draft.... Gimme a first and a 2nd and i'm all for it

They fear Miami will take him? Good jorb Adamprez, you fooled the Falcons!

I'd love that trade. I might get burned for that but I would love to trade down and get the top defensive player or a good o-lineman. Not to mention we would get DeAngelo Hall, one of the top young corners in the league instead of getting an overpriced Asante Samuel.

Hopefully Ryan impresses at the Combine and/or proday, ideally seperating himself from Brohm a fair bit. Enough to make taking him (by us) a very real scenario.
Atlanta needs a QB in the worst way, and they have some good ammo (2 second rounders, D Hall etc).
Good news, good news.

makes sense, there new GM is from the Pats, so he got to see Matt Ryan up close and personal, since he played for Boston College.

O man is it Christmas or my birthday? That would be F in AMAZINGGG!!!!!! I swear to god i think our staff paid off Kiper for this smokescreen about Ryan.... as long as it is just a smokescreen and we dont really want him.

I'd do it for a trade of firsts , a second and deangelo. Not sure if the falcons would pay that much. Man i hope this is true, it would definitley increase the bidding war.

We need two teams who want that top pick. Take the best deal and run. Especially if we can land another second round pick, that would be great after hearing Boomer say this draft is really strong from 20-60. Another second would be great.

That would be great. More picks for us, no 30mil bonus and hopefully D. Hall.

That's all well and good, but you're asking price is ridiculous.

Hey we'll give you the #3 overall, the 3rd pick in the second round, and our best player to move up two spots.
Not gonna happen.

A 3rd rounder will get that deal done, realistically.

Actually, no, that would be a possible consideration if they don't win the toss tomorrow and end up picking in the 5th spot. The value of the trade will increase there. IF they pick at 3...I would have to assume a swap of ones and a 2nd plus a pick of some sort next year. Nothing more...AND I still would do it.
