Going back to 2006 or 2007 and every year after that dingleberry has always lobbied for Mia
i to draft a qb and always dogged Miami for doing so. What I find interesting is that when we finally drafted a qb in the first round, captain dil hole dogs that Tannehill pick. Outside of lack of game experience at the position, tannehill has all the tools to excel for Miami. Prior to the draft I thought we should have taken a Pass rusher but the more I read and the more I hear about this kid, I think the sky is the limit for this kid. I feel great about this draft. God bless u all.

The funny thing is that reports came out today that the Bills and Seahawks were both interested in him and it was already known that the Chiefs wanted him so Ireland was right when he said he felt he couldn't trade down because he felt what he called "the qb gauntlet teams" would trade up to take him.

Dern ol' Kipper... I reckon he always be talkin some mean ol' nonsense bout this team, I tell ya what! We don't take kindly to dis kinda talk around these parts! We'll show that big ol' melon head a thing or two...you kin be sure of that! God bless and take care now, ya hear!

.................ahhh damnit, it's late...I need to get to bed!

Win one for the Kipper............

P.S. Before anyone starts the next Kiper/Tannehill thread, we get it. Mel Kiper is a idiot, we are all smarter then he is, the only reason that he has a job as a draft "guru" is because he is tall and has a full head of hair. Ryan Tannehill is a football GOD, he is Dan Marnio and John Elway combined.

Kiper was saying months before the draft that he didn't like Tannehill as a top 10 prospect. Why would he change his mind when we picked him #8?
It just so happens that most NFL minds seem to agree with Kiper on this one, so once again we are hoping against hope that Ireland knows something that nobody else does... Great.

On the other hand, I'd think that the opinions relating to QBs of someone like Bill Polian trump the guy who was convinced that Brady Quinn and JaFatazz Russell justified top 10 picks and has been known to pump up draftees because they were on the roster of "friendly" and no doubt generous sports agents.

Kiper is immensely qualified to work for the"mothership'. Like most who work there entertainment comes first and substance comes way after. Does anybody remember Brady Quinn, and how the Kipster just was besides himself that we passed on him? The guy we took beat the Jests twice.... but was not the family we thought he was.

I think it has become en vogue to bash the Fins but you know how the national sports media is. No insight what so ever. State the obvious. Go with what's popular until things change. I think th Fins had a good draft but only time will tell. I would have liked to see us get a wr but I like the BPA approach. I'd rather have a good player that's going to contribute instead of filling a need with a player that might not help. Who would you rather have Lamar Miller or Patrick Turner?

Not sure I agree that most NFL minds (whatever that means) feel this way. Most believe Tannehill has huge upside and could be a very good QB for us for years.

I'm not saying that Kiper (or anybody on ESPN for that matter) is an oracle that can tell no wrong, I'm just defending Kiper for holding strong to his beliefs. He was saying for months that Tannehill would be a reach at 8, and he stuck to his guns post draft. He didn't bash any of our other picks really, just the one he didn't like. Personally, I don't entirely disagree with Kiper on this one, but you can't hate the guy for having an opinion and not flip flopping.

The guy's been doing this since 1984 so there must be quite a few that like him.

Didn't Kiper also say Jake Long would be a less then average LT and a really good RT? Hmmm 4 pro bowl (and 1 all pro team) later, I wonder what old "KIPPER" thinks now.

EDIT: WTF, Greydolfin, take that sig down. it's making me want to vomit!
