Kitna boldly predicts that Lions will be winners in 2007

All depends on Calvin Johnson. I don't want to raise the bar so high, but he is compared to Randy Moss, so I think alot are expecting to have the type of rookie season Randy Moss had in his first year.

It also helps to have a pro bowl caliber receiver like Roy Williams to meet those type of expectations. And Calvin hasn't played with a decent quarterback in his college career.

We'll see how this goes. They got to remember, the Bears are on that division.

I don't think many care what that nerd has to say. If they win 5 then what happens? Nobody will still care
I think its funny to call any NFL player a nerd when you are sitting here posting on a message board.

Seriously though, I don't think it's possible for them to win that many games. Sure they have Calvin Johnson now but what about the rest of the team. Shaun Rogers may get suspended and they traded away Dre Bly. What besides drafting Johnson have they done to improve?

They have zero D, a questionable O-line, and I'm not sold that Bell will do much for their running game.

Jon Kitna must have been high when said: "I'll keep to myself what I think we actually will win. But it's more than 10 games."

If there's a franchise that needs to be done away with.

The Lions offense could be good, but again, their line isn't very good and they still won't have Kevin Jones back there---it'll be Tatum Bell who is an underachiever. I think there offense could be Top 5 if they get some production from Bell running the ball. However, I don't think they'll win 10+ games, but who'd have thought the Saints would do what they did?

The Bears won't be as much a factor in the Lions doing well as the Lions Oline and Defense will. I don't think the Bears will have nearly as good a year and a team steps up, could overtake Chicago---Mike Brown will be hurt, Tommie Harris will end up hurt, those are two known things with that defense. Plus, Grossman is awful at QB. I don't think it'll happen for the Lions, but whom am I to say they can't turn it around in one year?...especially when I hope the same for Miami.

Not the franchise, just the owners. The Fords are cheap and stupid. The Lions will probably remain in mediocrity as long as they own the team.

Last season it was Roy Williams who said something like 'When our offense clicks we are unstoppable' or w/e.

That was after they scored like 7 points in a game also
