Knee Surgery to sideline David Garrard

This from the guy who was banging the table for Kyle Orton. Well played, soothsayer. :bobdole:

Of course I wanted Orton. Are you suggesting Henne is a better player than Orton? Where am I wrong?

Also be aware of the fact that I was one of the few that thought Matt Moore was a good player and highly underrated long before we brought him in.

Youre seriously not telling me that Orton wouldnt have been an upgrade to Henne are you?

Get ****ing real dude.

Per Jay Glazer, Garrard will be out 2-4 weeks. Says nothing happened - just wear and tear.

So yeah logic and reason win this round I'm afraid.

Sorry, but the logic is it's wear and tear of a 34 YEAR OLD QB.

Time is not on this man's side and he's about to miss basically all of the preseason. Move on from him.

What? Wear and tear? I'm sorry have they been hitting him recently? WTF? Wear and tear? A QB that hasn't even taken a clean shot in over a year, what wear and tear can be so bad that knocks him out 2-4 weeks? Is he made out of glass? He's 34, not 84. Jesus.

In the end, who cares. I didn't feel like witnessing another round of Gus Frerotte or Jay Fiedler which would've been the best he would've been anyway. At least now RT gets plenty of FIRST TEAM reps in practice and we can get down to seeing whether he's the real deal.

With all due respect to Garrard (I'm not going to trash him because there is no proof he was only out for payday just suspicion) it is a good thing this happened now IMO. Now the rest of the younger QBs get valuable snaps that would have been used with Garrard.

I don't believe this means we have to or should start Tannehil now. Let them compete and the best man win the job. Starting whomever performs the best sets a good example for all on the team/shows them they work hard it is rewarded. I don't think Tannehill will sit for more than one season at most anyways and don't think it will slow his progress too much. If the kid has it he will be a winner regardless. And if he performs the best then by all means start him, just isn't something you have to do immediately no matter what. Let the best man win for now. I believe Moore still has upside so it wouldn't be a waste starting him if he wins. If he has a good season he could return a good draft pick in a trade.

Philbin and the staff have said it is an open competition and I believe it will remain one with no change in plan despite Garrards status.

like i said, old, slow, and struggling to keep up out there.

Wear and tear? I saw him tuck and run in the scrimmage maybe the old man should have used a Hoveraround!?!

Just curious are we still praising Ireland for this veteran signing? Or is this Parcells fault?

I'm not scared to say it, THIS IS A BLESSING IN DISGUISE.

TANNEHILL BABY! It his destiny. WEEK 1 STARTER.

Wait until Tannehill sees a blitz, bc every team will be rushing him knowing that's his weakness. Be careful what you wish for, he's been spoon fed in camp.

Exactly. Lets just see where he is after seeing #2's in this league. I can be patient with him...can others around here? Does not sound it.

I'm with you, I'd love to get him ready the 1st 1/2 of the season, much like the Giants did with Eli Manning. I'm hoping if he does start sooner rather than later, he doesn't tank and lead to a flustering career, because he wasn't ready enough.

Playing is learning you can't simulate a true blitz in practice because they can't touch the Qb. I personally have all the patience in the world for Tannehill this season this is a 5-7 win team regardless of the qb.
