We need to get as many picks in the second round as possible. We cannot even touch the first and we shouldn't want to, the talent up there isn't up to par. We should trade down with our first for two seconds or a second and a third. We then should unload Satele and get a second for him as well. Then we can really fix this team. We can get an NT, a WR(Nicks/Britt anyone?), get an LB(one will fall), and get a S(Delmas?).

Seriously the second is loaded with talent we need to trade down stat. Bill, make the call ASAP!

ok... i dont mind trading down, but shouldnt we at least wait to see how the draft shakes out and whos available then?

I wouldn't mind it, but only if we got a first for the next year out of it. I'm tired of the Pats always having two firsts and us with only one.

just wait until the combine is over then some of those 2nd rounds right now will be in the first round

I am going to give you a suprising info , you need another team to trade and for that to happen a really good prospect should fall to your spot.

who is going to give a 2nd for Satele really!.So he is drafted in the second round and think he is not starting material or good enough so some one should give you a second so they can find out the same ?.

pats will not have 2 picks in the fist round this year even if casell is traded for a 1st as i do not think with one first rounder, two second round and two thrid round picks their is any need for this casell pick to be in 2009. It will be moved to 2010.I am assuming asante due to his contract and playtime fetching a 3rd round as predicted .

Satele would be good in a zone blocking scheme. He just doesn't fit what we are trying to do.

I'll give you a better idea and that is trading away one of our 2nd round picks for a future 1st round pick. The 2010 Draft could end up being an excellent one.

it would be quite a deal...

for instance, if we were to try and find our safety in round 2 this year, why not trade it if we can for a 2010 first rounder, and get a guy like mays or berry next year ?

another fine example would be to get a premier candidate at the SOLB spot in Herzlich, instead of gambling on some "projects"
Herz is a sure starter for any team in 2010, so why waste a 2nd rounder on a guy who essentially could only pan out in 2010 when you can put your hands on big Herz ?

you might've had other ideas in mind...

anyways, we'd need to be pretty darn lucky to have that kind of deal in place for us though, but it would be nice, indeed, CK

The Patriots seem to do it every other year. We could get away with giving #44 away for a pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. It would have to be #44 though, it couldn't be #56.

Everyday of the week and twice on Sundays. next years draft will be one to remember.

I say do it any way you can, really. Trade #44 for a first rounder next year, trade #56 for one if that's even possible I doubt it, trade the third rounder for a second next year...do whatever you can to get as many picks in the top 100 next year.

i hate to say this, but i certainley agree becasue i dont know how much damage our team will do to the schedule we have to play next year, no matter what kind of a draft we have

I would love trading down, we are a young rebuilding team and might as well get as many players as we possibly can!

There is no way on the face of this earth anyone is stupid enough to give away a first rounder for a second rounder. I wish I was smoking whatever you're smoking.
